Heck - I've been called worse! :)
I have a friend who went through bootcamp at GL (years ago) and went to school there and he recommends Quonset Pizza - no idea - just passing on the info.
There's been a lot of Navy coming in to get their passports in the last few weeks at my P.O. so of course I HAVE to bore them w the news of my son in BC...but today I had a young girl and guy who both went thru BC just last year and graduated the first week in Nov...said it gets COLD and they couldn't wait to leave for A School in Fl....but they also said to take him to this pizza place that is absolutely the best pizza in town...not sure on the spelling but she wrote it Giradonos(?) Pizza Palor in downtown Chicago...she said a must go...and my son was soooooo happy to hear that and can't wait to just get out...
@Jenn...Imma gonna wait to buy the shirt/sweatshirt there too...if he still doesn't want one...then save the cash for pizza LoL
And I'm thinkin NONE of our Moms our the crazy ones...proud yes...crazy nahhhh
@Kendra, I will also be praying for her! She's got this. :-)
@Jenn, too funny about the crazy mom, oh well I think we all have become a little crazy, my son also talks about food, he wants pizza.
So happy that everyone got their phone calls, the call came in and I accidentally hit the wrong button so it hung him up, I was close to tears, sat there and prayed he would try calling right back, he did.
Didn't even ask about pictures or shirts, I knew I was forgetting something, lol.
He also made E-3, so he was pretty happy about that.
Oh Kendra - I'll keep praying for her - she's got this!! My son is still 6 seconds slow - I told him he better not fail by 6 seconds! From what I understood today the final PFA is next week and then she should have one more chance to pass it before battlestations. If she can pass it then she should be ok to graduate with everyone. I'll keep praying for her to have fleet feet!!
Aloha - thank you so much for that! I'm so glad they got to go through this together. As for the division shirts - I think there is a link on here where you can go to order them. I think it may have been set up on the Boot Camp Moms page. You can also go and get them after PIR at the MWR (is that right - too many letters!) I've seen a couple different posts - not sure if here or on FB about being sure to stop by there after PIR to pick up shirts. The thing that makes that a pain is that you are wasting time standing in line instead of having fun with your SR - but since it's a smaller PIR group it should be as bad. I think I'll just get mine there.
Great - I'm probably the crazy mom - and this is nothing! compared to my usual crazy. :) Just kidding - I've probably topped out here. My kiddo said that he didn't buy the pictures because he didn't see the package A or B options - great. Oh well - guess we'll be standing in line after PIR - pictures and shirts.
He also got some marksman ribbons. He did say he's hungry all the time. He mentioned being sure to go and eat after we leave the base a bunch - said we should hit up an all you can eat buffet. :) He also oddly enough was up to date on what new video games came out yesterday. Kid doesn't know what day it is and yet he can tell me about the newest xbox game. Priorities.
@Diana...yeh he mentioned the snow too...said it had started to hail on their march over to the phones and it was the size of dip and dots ice cream...have I mentioned how much i love him??? and NO ur NOT the crazy mom...ur the great organizer Mom! and I told him i didn't know why red and he said Mom u don't even wear scarfs...i told him just to look for me and don't make fun! LoL Have I mentioned how much I miss him??!!
Praying for wings on her heels Kendra.......
I got a call too today and a letter!!! She failed her run AGAIN by 40 sec this time! One more try... Then she will be set back! I am praying for speedy feet! She said she got a ribbon for sharp shooting and they got more flags as well! She wants me to find her new BF mom on here but I told her we cant use last names so... If ur daughter is from Arizona message me! :) Well its back to work for me tonight then off for the weekend! Have a good night friends!
Yea for calls!! I got one too! I didn't get the details you all got because she wanted to call her dad and grandpa, too, which they were also there to receive her call. She sounded really tired but good otherwise. Said it was snowing/sleeting at that moment. We didn't get into awards or any of that because she already filled me in on that info in her last letter. She wants QUIET family time when we are together. T-day dinner is still on but I have a feeling she'll want to hole up in one of our rooms as the other will be stashed out with dinner goods. No worries. It's all good. Didn't know anything about shipping out dates or Battle Stations yet. They have a bit of 'down time' tomorrow due to Veteran's Day then it's crunch time. All is good!
Got TWO letters in the mail from my SR as well and......
Got my LaLa ribbons!!!!!!!!! They are BEAUTIFUL Lala! I will wear them with pride.
Crazy moms?? Uh oh. Would that be me? :-/ Don't think I've said anything lurking on the end of crazy - have I?
Funny that your son wanted to know about red scarves. Red doesn't mean anything except BRIGHT and holiday cheery. No significance other than that.
My son called too!!! He sounded sooooooo much better this time! Jenn...he said ur son's ear is doin ALOT better and sometimes he can't hear but that's because everyone is so loud LoL...my son also got sharp shooter and national security or something like that...he said they had an hour so after we hung up when another division came in, he was gonna hit up the NEX for shampoo and stuff...we got to talk about Thanksgiving (he can't wait for the food!) and what he wants to do after PIR...he said the RDC's do read this site and said there are some crazy Mom's on here...not me tho lol...he wanted to know why red scarfs...? He bought the pics in his dress blues and wanted to know HOW I knew about the peanut butter uniforms...I said I was Mom and I know all...he didn't buy a shirt or sweatshirt tho...wondering if I can still buy one...thinking he'll change his mind and wish he had bought one...he described their flag that they created...a three-headed snake for the 3 RDC's...just glad his knee is better and his fever is gone and he is gaining time on his run...he's worried about graduating because he was sick...I told him not to stress, he will be amazing! He had to be, he has me as his #1 cheerleader! God I can't wait to hug his neck!!!!
