This is the final test for your recruits. When they pass this, they are sailors and trade in their recruit cap for their sailor cap in a capping ceremony afterwards. The ship they do this on was designed by Disney, so it is very realistic. During…Continue

Yes, ProudNavyWife. Mondays will always be Day #1 of the new week for him, Tuesdays Day #2.
Arwen: When my son was there, he said something about getting to Day 6-5 and being finished then...don't know if he meant ready for BattleStations then (finished all required tests) or finished with BattleStations also. Do you know about this? I could ask him, but he has been out now for almost a year and probably doesnt remember...plus he thinks I get too nosey! :-)
I guess I am just ready for it to be over already. this not knowing is driving me crazy. I will feel better when I can talk to my son as I know many of you are anxious for a call as well.
I am glad the weather has some what calmed down so there is no excuse for mail delays! LOL I know phone calls are not set in stone by any means but having a little hope gets me through the day!
I am praying and crossing fingers for letters for us all and will even cross the toes for that phone call!
Oh and a fun thing to do for letters if you have not done it yet is... copy and paste a picture onto your letter paper and print it. We have sent every letter with a family pic, dog pic, his fav football team, jokes, navy seal pictures, his favorite band and other random things that will make him smile...for Chrismas we did 2 pages of collages of tons of things, That way he does not have to many loose photos and these are on the letter he is reading ;)
All I know is that PIR is 2/11/11. That is enough to keep me going!!!!
fondzysgrl..... Have you sent your SR pics of your baby? I bet he really misses her. They grow so fast.
Vinsmom, that's 30-50 recruits per group, which is often around 1,000 sailors. However, occasionally 30 from a single division will fail. That happened to one of my son's brother divisions. They had 31 fail. They ALL passed on their second try.
My sons recruit told him basic would last 7 to 8 weeks, depending on how long processing took....it just keeps them busy and less time to miss home and loved ones
vinsmoms....it will all be okay, before you know it you will get that call that says "hey mom i am a sailor"....and all the stress will be gone...have you received a letter from your SR? was wondering how he was doing and how you were doing
tls....i noticed that the other day..i think i counted 6 graduations away
it is going to be a big pir!
On a positive note --- look at the schedule of RTC graduations ... we aren't on the bottom of the list anymore! Every graduation that drops off the page bumps us up one notch! We'll be at the top before you know it!
Isn't it funny how the smallest things can be an encouragement?
