If any of you want to start division discussion groups up above, please do. It is a way for you all to get to know one another and share info that concerns your recruits.  Just label it "Div (#)" and hopefully you all can get connected.  Please stay on this main board too though...or you will miss lots of good info shared by all of the ladies, and also we'll miss YOUR good info.   Just click on "start discussion" above to start your division discussion group.

paybacks:  The MeetNGreet for this whole PIR group will be on Thurs night, 3/10, from 6-8 pm, at the Ramada Inn Waukegan.  They put it on each week for the PIR groups...and you will find PIR families there who have not been a part of Navy for Moms (don't even know about it...so share!).  This is for families/friends only, none of the sailors will be there. They have light appetizers, cash bar (2 drink vouchers if you stay there).

LaLa, Have a great weekend and a safe drive.  How exciting to be able to be there with your daughter on the next adventure in her life..her 1st apartment!  Enjoy your visit.

I haven't received a letter yet. But he told me I would get them this Thursday. He writes everyday and then is gonna send them on Sunday. He says I have like 20 pages in one envelope :D So I will have a lot of reading to do :) I cant wait!! Apparently he writes me for an hour whenever he can. He also says he has received all my letters, and that he LOVES getting them! So ladies, please write your SR everyday if you can. They love getting that mail. It really lifts their spirits up and gives them a little piece of home :)

Is there anyone on here with a sailor in ship 12 div 092?  Someone on Navyfor Mom sent me a message and said people on here could tell me about the meet and greet, wheather they are getting their flags or if they are in trouble and when they will get to call

 

Help, no nothing about any of this stuff.

 

Also we got our first letter from our grandson yesterday dated 1/13 but it was postmarked 1/24

 

He said that they had talked about sending him home because of his back but he has been there 3 weeks now.  Wouldnt someone have called us by now if they were planning on sending him home?

kathryn:  That is so sweet, I love it when I hear about SR writing to their very young sibilings, and other young relatives.  Its something they will remember for a life time.  I want to hear my son's voice too, I really wanted to go home last night and have dinner with him, it was the first real bad day I have had so I think that is very good.  This is the longest I have ever been away from my son, laughs and its going to be longer LOL.  Trying to find humor in things now more, and keep on trucking with my life. 

 

When I see younger couples in the store with toddlers, I tell them now, cherish each moment they go way to fast.  You look up one day and they are gone off into the world to take the world on.  One couple thanked me becasue they were having a bad day, their kid was getting into everything.  It funny how you can make an impact with such a small passing comment.

Hi! We got a real letter from our daughter yesterday (ship 12 div 97). She also sent letters for her neice and nephew. All were thrilled to hear from her. The letter was positive - laughing babout handling a flag around turns (??). It made us feel better. I got a 3 minute call from her the day before (Wednesday). A total surprise - my class had just ended and I looked down to see my phone vibrate and a number I did not know on the id. Luckily I picked it up. The connection was awful but at leasyt I heard her voice. From the connection, she sounded sad but just wanted to talk about nephew's birthday. (We are raising them so theyt are like her baby sibs!) Any one else with loved one in same div?

Yea I think the 2am call was "not a normal thing at all".  I really hope that Salior is ok.  I am sure my son will call his fiancee, which I am not upset about.  She has already gotten more letters.  I have one and that is good.  I will write him again tonight when I get off work, then it will be rest time.  Got a headcold that has lasted for over 2 weeks now.

 

Yea that will be a fun time in order to move them into their first appt.  Kinda sad, but a good thing.  Lala have fun!
