Seg - our guys are in same division. If anything we'll probably be receiving letters this week.

Congrats to all the moms/wives/girlfriends that have gotten communication from their SR's. I hope there is a letter in the mail when I get home from work! :)

Mine left 3/2. He sounded so happy and excited to be there still. He hasn't gotten his dress uniforms yet. They got fitted and they should be in soon. He gets his hair cut tomorrow again. He said the toughest part had been the psychological game but he knew that was going to be part of it. I so needed o hear him and know he was doing well. He had wisdom teeth out (lowers) and is doing well.

Congrats to yall who received letters and phone calls!!!

I was curious as to when your boys left? My boyfriend left 3/8 and don't know if I shouldn't expect anything till next week...

Received my 1st phone call tonight!! I looked at the number and started not to answer it then remembered the 847 area code and got excited! Unfortunately, he told me he had an hour to talk so I talked for the 1st 30 minutes and then gave the phone to his dad to talk with him. Within 3 minutes of being on the phone with his dad they were told they had to hang up!! His dad quickly handed me the phone to say "I love you" before hanging up.

He sounded really good although there were a few tearful moments (both of us) - when I first answered the phone and then when he had to hang up.

His bunkmate's last name starts with and "H" and is from Washington State. I know his last name but didn't think it appropriate to post here. He said he's made several friends and has been doing much better now. He passed his swim test!! Woo Hoo!! Initially he failed the prone float. All in all, it made my day to hear his voice and know that he is okay.

They picked up their dress blues, dress whites, and peanut butters (they didn't have his size in dress whites but will have them next week). He was very proud of getting his uniforms.

He said he is getting 8 hours of sleep each day except when he has to pull watch. Food is good some days, not so good others. This coming from a picky eater - the food must really be good! lol!!

Hope those who have not heard from their SR will soon!! It was a relief to hear his voice. :)

Hey Johnsmom...my son is a NUKE, too.  I think he'll either fly out Sat. after grad or Tuesday...sign up for the NUKEMOMS group, too.  They are a great source of information!

   hugs

RECEIVED MY FIRST LETTER!

   ******AWESOME*****

That means that a lot of you will get one this week, too!  My boy didn't say much except that he's learning a lot and mostly enjoying every minute of it!!!!!!  He said that he's made some great friends, that he's safe and well and LOVES US!!!    Very positive...I cried, tears of gratitude and relief!   :)

That's funny Patti. I got a fortune the other day at a Chinese food place that said:

There are big changes ahead for you.

I ended up taping it to the letter I was sending my boyfriend that day. :)
