No news is good news, thats what I've been telling myself (in the morning before the mail comes)  In the afternoon, I'm bummed & clutching my phone.  roller coaster has slowed down a bit today, the sun is shining & that helps alot!

Chins up ladies, "we can do this together"

diannep....his recruiter knew all about the drill team so not sure.  Maybe he was in such a sleep deprived daze when he got to RTC, he forgot to mention it. He was actually pretty good on drill..did solo presentations at all the competitions.

justinmom:  Any position of leadership is a good position in bootcamp.  It gives them great experience!  Interesting that he was not put in the 900 division.  Maybe he didn't disclose the drill team experience?

No letters from my son yet, but did get several phone calls...he is the medical yeoman for ship 3, div 149.  Is that a good position to have?  Wondered why he was not in 900 div as he was on high school drill team for 2 1/2 years spinning rifles around.

Crazy Mom...Thank you for a nice start to my day, I am just missing my son so terribly, but your wise words put things in a good perspective.  Thank you.

was just reading some of your posts.. ladies my sons division when he was in...was held up for some reason initially and while other divisions were getting letters at 2 weeks.. my first one after the form letter was at almost 4 weeks.  Normally after the first two weeks they get 3 hours on sundays to catch up on boot shining, ironing, showering, etc and letter reading and writing...they are under so much stress so you might not get much..but know they love your letters and pictures.. send pics of your pets, just print them on plain paper and send..write a letter from the pet, copy cartoons and jokes about the navy off line..  i only got about 8 letters while my son was in.. and he and i have a great relationship and i know if he could he would have written more.  some ladies got 50 letters...   They are undergoing major transformations in their lives... your first letter might be a bit hard, some were writing home and hated it, but then in later weeks they were fine.  My son was fine the whole time..thank god.  please if you get a letter post some of the good things or others to read and love.  Put the number of your division after your screen name Like mine was "crazynavymomship2/div915" it makes it easier for others to keep up and know whats going on in thier own division.  but make friends with moms from all divisions as someday your sailors will be on ships/subs with sailors who were in other divisions.  HOLD TIGHT..its up and down and down and up... and you will make it.. I swear!!!  and this sucks... sorry.  You will be proud when you go to PIR.. and you will cry.. lol.  much love and lots of prayers for you and your sailor to be...

oh my.. i was in your shoes a few months ago.  My son pir'd 3/4/2011.  You are in the right place for information.  the Oz's (my name for all the oldies who come here and guide you or give you information) are great to help.  Your rollercoaster has alot of loops left to go..hang on tight and be good to each other.

I know you pir is still aways away.. but..  our group decided to wear pink scarves so we could find each other and all of us wore a blue ribbon made by LALA.  she is one of "ours" and her daughter pir'd back 7/2011.  here is a picture of my ribbons and if you need information on how to reach her just let me know.

Ship 3 DIv 152. I haven't received any letter either and am also crazily stalking the mailman. Hoping that it will come sometime this week, the sooner the better.

R's proud mom- me and another mom have received letters from our SR's last Wednesday and hers last thursday. Maybe your son didn't have time to write. Don't worry the next round of letters should be in the next few days!
