Hello everyone...I know you are all as excited as I am!  Getting kinda nervous about the uncertainty of some things.  Does anyone know for sure when your SR is going to A school there in the Great Lakes, at what point do we give them their black bag with items such as computer, phone, etc.   Not sure if I bring that to PIR and leave in the car, get it out and take to the ceremony or just leave at the hotel and have for her to bring back to school after liberty.  Does this make sense...Don't want to do something that will get them in trouble.  Help!

Linder SRs mom- we opted to drive because we didn't know if our sailor would have much time. They worry slot about being back on time. So I was glad we drove and had the freedom to leave immediately for Chicago when he said that was his preference. That way, we didn't have to shuttle ba ck to hotel to get the car. We were out of there really quickly. We were in the carline at around 6:15 and it was not a bad wait. Take dunkin donuts and have breakfast. You can take drinks in with you and they sell coffee there. Also we were advised not to use train to Chicago as schedule back is unreliable. I think arriving at 7 is fine but I don't know what the security line was like at that time. We were through in about 10 minutes at around 6:30

Christy, I dug through all my drawers looking for a magnifying glass to no avail.  Went to Target to get a tide pen, some binoculars and a magnifying glass.  Just got home and looked at the pictures again, I called my husband over to look too, pretty sure we can see our son over some ones shoulder next to your son. LOL

91brandonmom:  The site is down today.  They had a power outage up there and it has been down all day.  Don't worry...it should be back up tomorrow sometime. You can download your gate pass from then up until PIR day.

You are very welcome, LINDEE.  Remember, you are a veteran as well after this week, so feel free to drop into the PIR groups after that and share your "wisdom" with the newbies!

Ramada actually has their own shuttle.  It leaves at either 7 or 7:30.
