My Son is a July 15 PIR - Div 935... still waiting to find out if he is a grad and go.. he believes he is and flies out at 3 am Sat morning to Pensacola....He should have received his orders, but no information at home yet.  I feel so in the dark about what will happen, how much time do we have with him.... frustrating.... but yet so very excited to see him!

candej:  Lala just posted a few posts down from you.  HURRY and contact her!

Those new sailors staying in GL will probably have to move over to that base right after PIR for several hours...then they get daytime liberty with you for weekend.  Those flying out most likely won't until Sat or Sun, so Fri liberty (and Sat. if Sun departure) with you and then airport visits with them if you meet them there and get a gate pass.

candej:  Message Lala Ribbon Queen right away.  You can scroll back through the posts to find her icon (of the ribbons) or find her in the members square above.  Hurry as she priority mails and she would need to get this out like really soon!

How can we order the PIR ribbons? My son's PIR is 7/15 and we leave town on the 12th is there still time to order?

Be flexible with your plans, some will just want food, a hot long shower and sleep, some may want to shop, others will be on their phones nonstop talking to friends.  Everyone will be different in what they want to do, some may want to see all of the sites and others will want to chill.

Your recruit will have the best information about what kind of liberty they will have after PIR or they may get some of the info just a day or two prior.  One of the things to remember is what happens for one group may not happen for another.  Your recruit will be the most accurate source for this information.

Once they have liberty they may go with you but must stay within a 50 mile radius of the base, they must stay in uniform, unless in your hotel room - only in the room are they allowed out of uniform, if they step outside your room door they must be in their uniform, they are not allowed to drive, drink, smoke and some other stuff.  They will be told all of this but it is nice to remind ourselves that they must follow the rules. Do not under any circumstances bring your recruit back to the base late.
