elizabeth, I am so happy my son is out having a good time..they all deserve it after everything they go thru in boot. And it's so nice to hear that American public responds to them with kindness. Jon is still at Great Lakes he is waiting for his orders to be shipped to San Antonio.

Southern mom it really is very touching to hear of these stories and how people respond to and treat those boys and girls that are serving our country.  I know my son enjoyed going off base yesterday to eat with a group of people.

Keeger, so glad to hear your son is enjoying himself, where is he based at?

Christy, I have some good pictures for you, when I get to posting them I will have J. send them to B.

My son had his first Liberty weekend this weekend and said that a bunch of them from div. 230 went out to the mall and to eat and a stranger came up to my son and his roomate and thanked them for their service and actually paid for his and the roommates dinner!! Wasn't that the sweetest thing!!! see, there are still some nice people who appreciate all the sacrifices that our sailors are making!

It is great to see the clock say 8 days since PIR.  My son is now at Corry Station Fl.  So far so good as he is stilling in and making more Navy mate friends.  Class has not made yet and waiting.  He likes Fl other than it has rained about every day.  Wish the rain would come to Okla.

You know...y'all can keep meeting here to keep up with each other. Your group creator has the option to change the name of the group anytime...the July 1st group changed theirs to, "Centennial PIR Group" and still connect up. Or you can just leave it and still meet. One of our div moms made a new group for our div called "After PIR DIV 180" and invited us to join. We check in  now and then!

elizabeth-you brought tears to my eyes...doughnuts included! I can see them wolfing them down!

And the gentleman giving his seat to him...((sniff, sniff))...how wonderful!

Love these stories...always here of some after each PIR!

So glad you all post them.
