Terry'sproudmom, the I'm a Sailor call is so exciting.  My SR loved BS and would do that over again.  If there are parents at the airport I'm sure they will adopt them, we didn't have any other parents at the airport until just before they were to load the plane.  I am glad we got to the airport shortly after the Sailors, it was fun to see them interacting with each other,  I just looked through the pictures from PIR this morning, My SR took some pictures of his Shipmates in the USO,  they gave me a great laugh, groups of them asleep on the couches, all of them with there mouths wide open.  They were so exhausted.

Elizabeth, Thank you.  Brought tears to my eyes.  Waiting for a "Sailor" call today as my son PIR's this Friday.  He is being detained at RTC for 8 days after PIR so we won't be there to see him off at the airport.  I am glad people treat them well and I am hoping some other N4M's will adopt him at the airport.

I know it isTuesday and PIR was 4 days ago, but I am still tired.  PIR was great and it was really nice meeting others at the Meet N Greet.  We got to spend a lot of time with our Sailor, we even went to the airport at 2:00 AM Saturday morning, bringing doughnuts for the Sailors, boy were they happy to have those doughnuts, I wish I had a picture of that.  They were like a school of fish being fed.  Our Sailor traveled to San Antonio, with a lay over in Antlanta, they had a women with her children stop them and take a group picture with her children.  My Sailor was the first Sailor to walk onto the plane in Atlanta and a Gentlemen in First Class stood up, thanked him, shook his hand and gave him his seet in first class and went and took our Sailors seet in the back.  Our sailor has called us every day sometimes two or three times a day, he is so excited to start his classes and so happy about his decision to join the Navy. He can't wipe the smile off of his face, I can just hear it in his voice.
