Momof2:  What a great story about the church.  I hope my son is there on Sunday so that we can go with him.  He told me God has shown me a lot.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites in Waukegan.  It was close to everything.  Each room has a separte sitting area with a couch and desk.  It was so nice to just relax with our son.  Try the Sweet Tomato.  Aussiesmom told me about it.  Go in and look around.  They are very nice and helpful.  The food was really good.  Just enjoy the time you have with your SR.  Our son invited us to church with him on Sunday.  It was a great service and was wonderful to see 19 recruits go to the alter after the service.  I was deeply touched.  It was a wonderful weekend!

Southern Mom:  Thank you for the info on the Ramada.  I have read that it is a problem in some areas and not others.  I think if it is bad I'll ask for a room change as we are getting in very late Wed. night maybe we'll be able to change the next day.  Thanks again.  I hope you had a wonderful time at PIR

Any new recommendations from anyone here on where to eat and things to do?

Terry- I stayed at the Ramada-Waukegan and I didn't smell anything. We had a great room and the people were so helpful and I would highly recommend it to anyone going!

heard from my Sailor several times today.  Seems he had liberty but couldn't leave base so nothing to do...big change for him.
