You are very welcome :-) They did the Human Flag on Flag day and they were also celebrating the one that over 5000 Navy sailors participated in 100 years ago. I have a pic somewhere of that one too, when I find it I will post it.

Thanks Birdiejr! It was such a relief to talk to him :) He had just got the phone card I sent him, but he already bought one there, so he gave one to someone that didn't have one. We must have talked at least 35 min, so I was able to ask alot of questions. What ship and div is your SR in?

Lala, just wanted to thank you for posting those pictures on June 7 of the Human Flag. Incredible!! What was the occasion?

diannep, unfortunately you have to pay when you book them online by bidding, and they don't refund if you have to change, my husband takes care of the bidding, he has been able to get partial credits sometimes when changing or canceling a trip.  He does a lot of traveling and now he will only bid on hotels, he didn't want to reserve a hotel until it got closer but I was afraid there wouldn't be any rooms available if we waited.

Jodi, the Marriott hotels (Residence Inn, Springhill Suites, Courtyard) all are nice and close to each other...about 4 to 4.5 miles from the base, all with PIR shuttle.  We stayed at Residence.  Nice especially for large groups, Residence offers studios and also 2 bdrm 2 bth, all with full kitchens.  Free hot buffet breakfast and they are PET FRIENDLY.  There are lots of hotels up there.  You may want to look through previous PIR groups to see where they are staying and how they liked it (look at the 6/10 group which is there now).  I know Red Carpet it there, Comfort Inn, I think a Days Inn. I actually just googled GL hotels to find Residence as I had no hotel info then.

elizabeth:  What happens if, God forbid, you have to change your dates?  Do they charge you for changing?

We bid on our hotel on Priceline and got it for a whole lot less then calling them directly.  The Hotel we got by bidding is about three miles from BC, the Holiday Inn Express.

Jodi, Did you get the form letter?  It has a LOT of hotel info in it.  Most everyone has a deal for Navy graduation.  The Ramada has the Meet n Greet on Thur night 6-8 (you don't have to stay there to go).
