Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Just T on June 10, 2011 at 9:56am: I received 2 more letters yesterday....made my WEEK!!! She had her moments when she was down but always seemed to pull herself back up. She even had her wisdom teeth removed and seemed as though it was nothing. She has already grown up!!!!

Lala....sorry you are not feeling well. Hopefully the weekend will pass quickly for you so you can see the Doc. Take care, feel better soon.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on June 9, 2011 at 10:28pm: I am sorry I have been MIA most of the day. I have had a lot of pain on the right side of my face and thought it was from a tooth. I spent over 3 hours waiting to be worked in at the dentist office and they found nothing wrong, not as much as a single cavity. It hurts to yawn, hurts to eat and my glands are swollen along with a lot of pain. No clue what it is. I will have to wait until Monday to go to the DR because they are closed on Fridays :-( Thanks goodness for pain meds :-} I will be around off and on tomorrow as I work on the ribbons. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend.

Comment by Christy on June 8, 2011 at 10:51pm: Elizabeth, I undertand I have read this 2nd letter from my son over several times today. He had written over a 5 day span from May 31 to June 4. The first part he sounded really down but by the last date of the letter he ws better. He has lost 7 lbs since he got there on May 17.
