All someone from this group has to do is get the MeetNGreet on the calendar on the right.  The Ramada does everything else.  For anyone who might like to do this, here is what you do:

Click on July 14th on calendar on the right; click "add event".  Here is the info to put in:

PIR 7/15/11 MeetNGreet at Ramada Waukegan

200 N. Green Bay Rd

6-8 pm

All family members/friends of sailors in PIR 7/15/11 are invited!

***

Ok, as far as getting together as a group to get to know one another after the MeetNGreet, many PIR groups go to dinner afterwards as a group (remember, there will be non-N4Mom families at MeetNGreet....be sure to tell them about N4Moms as many won't know abou us!).  There is a restaurant called Anastasia's up there that has been very good to N4Moms PIR families.  If you think you may want to go there and have a good number of people, please call them the week of PIR and give them a headsup so that they can reserve part of the restaurant for you (free---all will order their own meals). Not sure of the phone number...just google Anastasia's in Waukegan.

One thing some groups have done with the nametags is to print out their profile pik/screen name from this site as their nametag...then add their "real" name below.  If someone is really industrious on here, you may want to offer to do them for the group!  Like fireteamleaderwife said, if you don't want to do that, Ramada will have the blank nametags.

Okay, spelling is terrible, sorry, need to go to bed.

I better look up the "You know your addicted to NAvy4Moms when..." thread. :-D

Hi 07/15

There is a Meet and Greet. I believe someone from this group has to "host" it. I don't think you have to "do" anything (the Ramada does this for every PIR) just start the discussion for it?

A little help diannep or LaLa?

There is a bar and tables and chairs. Pool tables.

If you are staying at the Ramada you get a voucher for two free drinks. Everyone else has to purchase beverages. There are finger foods (but plenty of them) chips and salsa, veggies and dip. Their is a hostess who greets you and gives makes you a nametag with your REAL name, DIV, and state your from on it. Write your Navy4Moms moniker on it too. About halfway through she comes in with a mike and invites anyone  who would like too to come up and intoroduce themselves. Our DIV "found" each other this way! I wasn't going to go but was glad I did!

You will not be as focused about it at PIR. AND you will see familiar faces AT PIR.

I never did get to find one of my friends that I wanted too. Wish I had arranged something better!

Hey if some of you arrive early...do both! I am real glad I met some of the moms!

I also met some at the airport when I saw my Sailor off!

91brandonmom I got the same type of call from my son about 2 days ago needing the sae kind of info.  He was really home sick.  I talked really fast to find out what and how he was.  Said he had lost track of days some.

Thanks diannep, I'll have to give them a call. The Father's Day card is a great idea...I'll have to get one tomorrow and get it sent to him! No letter home here yet either...or phone call other than the "I'm here" call :(

ohevetbeni, Haha, that sounds exactly like my son before he went to BC. On one of his calls home, though, he said "mom, you were so right about me missing you and you can right as many letters as you want.  Please keep them coming"..  :)  Of course, I wrote to him every single day and sometimes more than once a day..
