I agree with diannep.  The RDC might just ask them to open the envelope it in front of them, but I wouldn't think they would have a problem with it.

Yep!  You should.  Others have done that.  I think it is wonderful.  RDCs should be ok with it....

I received a call too!  It was so wonderful to hear his voice.  It was for college transcript info and I got to visit with him for a little bit.  He said that he has a job and is doing good. He sounded strong and happy.  I took the advice of others and didn't cry when we were talking, but cried like a baby after we hung up.  :)  No letter either.

Ok - today was an exciting day.....I heard from him only for a minute because it was regarding his background check and he needed alot of family information so no chance to really talk but it was so nice to hear his voice. He sounded great but he did say he was sick.
Not sure who I should thank but thank you to the person who said not to waste your precious time crying while they are on the phone with you - you can do that after LOL! I held tight until the very end :)

CANavymom:  I have heard parking is close---not sure as I took the shuttle when up there and it worked out great for us.  But I would suggest you call the Public Affairs Office and discuss it with them. They could tell you exactly:
