Diannep - do you know how far the handicapped parking area is from where the PIR takes place? My in-laws aren't real stable and I'm wondering if the shuttle and wheelchair situation would be easier for them?

Thank goodness she was ok, Mother Bear.  You all too.  Wow...the stories of the miracles there must be unbelievable.

You all....heed southern mom's warning and book your hotel rooms now!

For those whose PIR is 7/15, rooms are getting scarce as well. Just finished booking mine and not alot left they said. I had to call about 4 hotels to get mine!! Just thought I'd share that for those that were waiting. Have a great day! hope to meet some of yall there!!

Thanks Diannep,  appreciate the information.  We didn't have damage (just tree limbs down) but my mother in law lost her home and car.  Thankfully, she walked away without a scratch.  We are thanking God, and the pocket angel she still had in her pocket. She forgot to give it to my son that morning when he left.  The town my son left will never be the same, but we will rebuild better than before.  Thanks for the prayers!

91brandonmom:  RTC FB has said that the school photo ID with ss card or b certificate to back up if needed is fine for a 14 yr old.  Some get a state id card just in case, but it may not be necessary if you have school photo id.

MotherBear:  There is handicapped parking...but if you take the shuttle, there are also sailors stationed about with wheelchairs for those who have a hard time walking (and you avoid the car line, although this group is very small so it won't be bad)...they will wheel you right into the PIR Hall and back out again. If you have any questions, call the Public Affairs Office:  847-688-2405 They will be happy to help.

Praying for your community...did you all receive damage?

Does anyone know what the handicapped parking situation is like at PIR?  We live in Joplin, MO and are driving to Chicago for the ceremony.  Would we would be better off taking a shuttle from the hotel or using the handicapped parking that is available?  My mother in law has trouble walking long distances.
