does anyone know what the dress code is or know what they're wearing to the graduation?

southernmom: Each division with its brother division started training days at a different time. The best thing to do is make note of when your SR tells you 1-1 was (Week 1, Day 1). For example, say it was on a Tues. Then each Tues would then be Day 1 of the next week. Weekends don't count. Just M-F. Holidays don't count either, so Memorial Day would have thrown off the day count a bit for those already in training. They usually complete training by 6-5, and PIR during the 7th week.
You all are now on the RTC upcoming grad schedule! 6 divisions...a very small group. That's good for the "extras" to have room to attend PIR!
Me too ohevebeni......it was nerve racking!!!! LOL
All we can do is try right!!!! :'-(
Hi Lala Ribbon Queen,
Thank you so much for your comment regarding the first letter. I had soooo hoped for a call over the weekend with it being Memorial Day and all, but it didn't happen. Now, I just hope to find a letter in the mail this week. I've been writing since I learned of the address. It's encouraging to hear from one's who have already been where us newbies are today.
Thanks,
trucka'smom
I agree Diannep, at least when my daughter was as bootcamp I knew where she was at all times. I didn't have to worry about her driving home late from work or from a movie with friends. I missed her terribly but I did sleep better at night.
I hope you all get really good letters this week. The best letter days are Wednesday and Thursday but it all depends on where you live.
Just remember those first couple of letters can seem pretty bad. The may be homesick and they may say they hate it there and just want to come home. But keep encouraging them, they can get through this. And each week will get better. The first real letter I received from my daughter began with: "Hi Mom, I cried myself to sleep the first night" Well I am telling you I could not even read any further. Everytime I tried to read the letter I couldn't get past that first line. It took me over and hour, Phil came home and I was sitting on the porch swing with the letter in my hand crying. He said in a panicked voice what's wrong? and I handed him the letter. He read it and said did you read it and I just shook my head no. He said read it, it gets better and she is fine. So finally I read the whole thing. She went on to say that a lot of them had a really hard time the first few days but it was better now and she had made some friends, the food was good, P days sucked and IT sucked worse lol. She said the RDC's were tough but she was sure that was just to get them to become sailors. She repeated over and over throughout the letter I am fine, I guess she didn't think I would believe her. She said "I can do this, I can do anything for 8 weeks and please stop crying cause I know you are. I will make it, this is what I wanted to do, pray for me and tell Momaw and Papa to pray for me, I love you, L.... PS Where are my letters woman, I need mail, please write :)"
Of course by this time I had written lots of letters she just had not received them yet. She got one the first day they got mail and the next day she got 14 lol. She said it was better than Christmas.
So I hope all of you are writing lots of letters. Even if the first letter or two is kind of down try not to worry, most of them go through this and it will get better each week and you will be able to tell that by the letters they write. By the end of boot camp my Sailor said she actually loved it and it was awesome, she wouldn't really want to do it again but she could lol.
I added a BattleStations discussion above yesterday. BattleStations will be their final test before PIR. Just click on the link in the discussion group to read an explanation of what happens.
Hoping that your grad group will be on the RTC upcoming grad list today!
