Well I received a couple of letters from my SR ysterday. Only 1 was very long the other 2: 1 was a list of things needed and the other was a list of what she did that day so like 4 line long but still treasured!! She too reports that her division is a little overloaded in estrogen...lol..her words not mine. They are having a difficult time gelling but is faithful they will get it together. She was most excited to report that her paperwork went through with her college credits and she was promoted to an E-3!! She also reported that they have been getting ITd a lot due to people talking at chow and on girl sighing at an RDCS. Not a smart move for the one girl but they will learn. I find it funny because the tone of the letter was that of "and I thought you were tough"...lol. She says she has mastered bed making and other girls come to her for help with uniforms. She received help from another young lady in another division on polishing her boots so hopefully she will quit getting ITd for that. They will learn though all of this is for a reason. I can remember going through basic back in 96 (Army) and now when I think back it wasn't that hard. Kind of like labor, you forget how bad it really was once it's over. Just wait until they go through the gas chamber and hear their responses to that.

I am really happy for those of you who have received calls from your recruits. I have received a couple of information calls but still enjoyed hearing her voice. Really helped me out so I know how you feel.

It is hard to believe that next Tuesday we will be at the half-way point.

Paige:  Many divisions struggle to get it together, but they all make it before PIR!

Meegan, My son did mention that he is not a big fan of having to do extra PT when people mess up. Hopefully we get call soon! I will keep you posted.

Sorry for any typos...from my phone as I WAIT to get sleepy! LOL
Meant to put an exclamation mark after "...muscles stronger!"

Also Meegan, I left out how sorry I was to hear of the death of the young man. My heart goes out to his family, to your son, you and anyone affected by this tragedy.

I am sorry I have not been on as much...trying to start.the new PIR group (It's up...yay!)...and a few other things!
Have loved reading your posts...so much support flowing through them!
Meegan - You have already gotten some wonderful advice for your very diffucult situation...I concur on waiting if it is possible. (Sigh) I don't FB amd at times like this wish it wasn't there! But I also know there are other ways such as friends writing and such, so I pray, pray, pray that it works out to where he will not know until you are able to be with him. So glad you are on here and have these wonderful ladies for support. BIG HUGS to you!

Janell - On the Senior Chief "boo-boo"...my some did it...twice.
He DID get personal IT for about 25 minutes each. But your SR may not...not the most fun thing but hey...it'll make his muscles stronger. Even though he got the IT...it was better than getting yelled at in his face...he dreaded that the most.

NicksWife - Thanks to your hubby for passing helpful hints along! On fhe Boots...stressors of BC etc.
Yes...BC is designed to be stressful. Our sons recruiter told him that it is a "big mind game". He (recruiter) said that once they cleaned the whole compartment, went to chow and came back to find everything...EVERYTHING...clothing, sheets, mattresses...all piled I'm the middle of the room. He was shocked...had never experienced anything like it before. They were ordered to get it all sorted out...now...and so they did. Just one of the reasons for RPO positions at BC! Start organizing and getting it done!
But when you think about it...that was shocking...but true conflict...I could not even imagine. My hubby had a multiple (6 or 7) mortar attack on his base one day. He is AF Security Forces and was the Flight Chief. It was so spread out that he ran our of paper to do a proper grid ...used the hood of his humvee and a grease pencil to map it out as personnel reported in on who was where and handling it.
I have a picture of him and his buds smoking cigars and drinking coffee. He said to me," That...is a very important photo. That was three hours before 'all hell broke loose'".
Hope there are more letters and calls! Thank you all for sharing.

Meegan, My son called today.. I was worried about him not being able to call also in the two letters he has sent me he said they are not coming together as a team very well. Said they have several SR that were immature and won't keep their mouths shut.   But after talking to him today he said he thinks it will come together soon that it is getting better.   So be ready for that phone call!!  Good Luck

Patrat-Div23-Ship04 Hooray!!! It was the best huh. oh, when I was reading mine I could here his voice. Funny how that is. I have not gotten a call either.; By the sound of my sons letter, they may be struggling with something. He said that they have had extra intense training b/c of peeps screwing up. Well, I was just happy to see he was still holding on! Lets  keep sharing

My hubby likes the food too which is really funny to me because he's pretty picky.
