Ooops!  See I posted good morning twice!  Well, guess I'm just full of extra energy today!

Ladies, be sure to click on Lala's icon 4 posts below this one and look at the ribbons she offers for PIR/  She has been doing this for 2 years now and having been on this site for over 2.5 years myself, I can tell her there are many satisfied customers!  She is very prompt in getting your ribbons made and shipped to you promptly.

So, click on her icon below, and scroll through her pictures!  She puts lots of "Navy love" in each ribbon she makes!

Ok, DrewsMom:  Too funny about the 15 seconds trying to get the dog to say HI during the I'm Here call!  I would have done the same thing...but I missed my son's since it came in the middle of the night, on my cell, which was off (I think he chose to call the cell because he didn't want to wake me  :-(   ) Being dog lovers ourselves, so totally get trying to get the dog to say HI!

Good morning all!

Good morning all!

Hey Team Navy4Moms, we are entering. The third week and phone calls! I downloaded my cell manual and figured out how to conference call. Just saying when Drew calls i want his dad and brother in on it too. I wasted the 15 sec 'im here' call by trying to get his dog to say hi.....jeeze

Sounds very familiar Betsy. Now if they were gonna be on the same ship we could go to the going away and homecoming celebrations together :-)

Lala, Yes that is a big bonus and at least there was a silver lining in that possible gray cloud.  :)  I think that the possible impending trip could very well be the reason for the big surprise visit from my sailor last week, as well.  I'll just keep those memories fresh and deal with the other option later.  Some of the moms of sailors on my son's ship have also said that their sailors were told not to make any life altering decisions in their lives for the next few months, so.........we shall see.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on June 10, 2012 at 7:57pm

Well we are still very unsure about when it will happen but those who didn't already have them were told to get GOV issued passports and if they planned on taking leave this year to do it between two weeks ago and  a few weeks from now. So for that reason she gets to go on vacation with us :-) So we are happy about that.

Laureen, my son is on a carrier also.  I'm so glad that you have a lot of contact with him.  I'm sure that helps ease your mind.

Drewsmom, my son is also a gamer and for Christmas after his BC, we also got him an Asus.  He was a lucky guy since his PIR was 12/17 so he got it a week after PIR.  He loves it.  I won't sugarcoat it though, it was a little bit pricey, but this was in 2010, so maybe they have come down some in price since then.

Lala, ((hugs)) I didn't realize that about your sailor.  I think the non-knowing is the worst of it.  I really feel that if we knew something fore sure and it wasn't all just conjecture, it would be easier to handle.  My son will find out very soon.  My prayers are with you and your sailor.

Drewsmom, he got an ASUS, don't know the specs, but I will be sure and ask him.
