Have you heard from your daughter or son?  My daughter is in Div 300 and she sounds good, but tired.  Interesting in hearing how your daughter or son is doing.

My son did 4 years of Airforce JR ROTC in H.S.(graduated 2009) He was teaching dance and was a ref for paintball tournaments, and going to the local jr college. My son got through H.S. because he exceeds in tests, SO he was kind of not going to his college classes and when I found out I explained he needed to quit dance so he could get a full time job with health insurance he turned 19 in Feb and would no longer be covered by my insurance if he didn't go to college full time! Over spring break his buddies that had enlisted right out of H.S. got him all pumped up about the military one buddy took him to the Marine career ctr and he was all into the marines had the bumper sticker on his car, then the next day his buddy (who just got off the G.W or G.H Bush ship) talked him into checking out the Navy and the rest was history, bumper sticker removed and replaced. I was very sorry to see my errand boy leave, but am happy he made this decision all by himself and that his earliest letter from BC said "It's weird I can actually feel myself growing up"

I used to follow (in the car) my ex-husband's group around on the sub base in CT--just to hear their cadence ;) haha
Sara--are yall in Oklahoma? My dad was OHP for 30yrs!
I have two Marine nephews--both were in Iraq a few yrs ago--I was on edge the WHOLE time they were there! Now the oldest is on Embassy detail in Rome =)

Michimom - my son is the AROC in his division so he leads his division in the cadence. By any chance did you hear a loud deep voice? My daughter was at the base with her husband the other day and swears she heard her brother.

Sara--great story! I agree, Jake made so many changes during his dep time--he matured and kept himself out of trouble---even his friends were more aware of keeping him out of trouble. I am really lookin forward to visiting with him and seeing the good changes =) I know one thing...he was asking me about world news the other day---I was shocked! Jake has NEVER been interested in world news!! LOL

Rames - what division is your son in? I probably read it somewhere but just don't remember.

thank you terri!! I am not worried about any of my children--I feel bad for their dad, his choice, his loss! But I raised strong, independent, outstanding young people and I know they will each find their way--with or without him ;) They all know that they ALWAYS have Mama--their biggest fan =)

Lydia--I totally agree--his dad's loss--our kids are truly amazing people and he will miss out if he so chooses.
Jake will be an interpreter/linguist. I believe one day he will use his GI bill to pay for art school--he'd like to be a story boarder for films. I am just so proud of where he is now--growing up in a small Texas town, it would've been easy to get "stuck" there. I thank God everyday for the paths each of my kids have chosen!
Suzieq--my house smells BLUE!! lol So excited for those awaiting the calls!!!
