Hi - we are from West Houston and our son's PIR is next week ~ May 20!  I am so excited.  He said he might be a grad n go so we don't  know how much time we will get to spend with him.  I have read that SRs might be too tired to see Chicago - do a lot of people agree with this?  I would think by now they are used to going 24-7 and ready to do more!!

Vickie, I'm sorry - I had to delete your post.  We cannot post any dates on ship's returns.  That is OPSEC.

Welcome Justa!!

I will echo what Brenda & Elaine have said that it is a bumpy ride but with many joys and pround moments along the way. Start writing now and have those letters ready to send off as soon as you receive his mailing address. He will be so happy when they all coming in :-)

My son is ATO and just finished A-School at PNAS and is anxiously waiting for his orders for his next duty station. Fingers crossed he gets what is wished for!

Justa, I'm over here in Weatherford. Not too far. Also, I know of a couple more from this side of the Metro-mess. One is in Aledo. Welcome to N4M's, enjoy the ride. Don't forget to join your PIR group. They will have a lot of good information. Joys and sorrows will also be shared there. Welcome to this great ride they call the United States Navy. Hold on, the ride can be bumpy, but there is always a rainbow on the horizon. Mine has only been in for 9 months as of yesterday, he is on his first deployment and is due to return soon. Oh, and don't forget to save EVERYTHING!!!! except maybe the kleenexes. Hahaha.
