Thanks Storymom! I will be sure to join those groups. If anyone out there hears of interest in resurrecting the Seattle-area group you mentioned, I'd be interested in helping too!

RNMom, sorry for the delay on answering.....years ago a group met in Seattle several times for sailor care package distribution, and for lunches here and there. no current meet-up groups that I know of? please ask questions here, but be sure to join Boot Camp groups and PIR groups here at NFM. LOTS of info. There will be a group formed for your sailors graduation too (PIR). Also join the group for his/her job or rate (Aircrew, mechanic, elect, submarine, corpsman, logistics, Seabee etc) ❤

Joniana,

Poulsbo is also a nice little town to visit.

Joniana: We have camped in front of the car at the lighthouse at Point No Point, facing the sound. There's also Kopachuck State Park, view of the Olympics there. Also Hoodsport is a good town to visit. In the Columbia Gorge you must cross the Bridge of the Gods, drive along the historic gorge highway to Rooster Rock, and visit Multnomah Falls.

Hi Joniana: Our sailor is stationed at NAS Whidbey Island WA. We love going to the Island and stopping at all the little towns on the island. Deception Pass is gorgeous for the view and taking pics. Also really enjoy Langley and Port Townsend. Beautiful area. Lots to do in Seattle too but we prefer smaller towns to visit. Have a great time☺

Hi West Coast folks -- we're hoping to get out to Seattle area this spring -- interested in doing a few side trips, possibly to the Tulip Festival and the Columbia River area.  Any suggestions / recommendations / things not to miss or to avoid?  Many thanks!

Hello WA/OR moms - I have a son just going in, and am wondering if there is an active group that meets up for support and encouragement in WA?
