This is a sad topic. Praying for all of our sailors.

Yes, momof2sailors, I was saddened to learn of the accident involving the two officers. So glad they are finally recovering at home now. I will ask my son if he knows yours and let you know. Take care and thank you and both your sons for their service.

roguevalgal, your son may know mine. Last name Beck. It's just so crazy. You know last month VAQ 132 had that accident with one of their birds that sent 2 pilots to Harborview in Seattle. Satan needs to get his hands off our Sailors. Last month my son that is stationed in CA had one of his shipmates committ suicide. My son said there was no signs.

Our son IS in VAQ132 squadron and this was his previous LCPO. Very sad. Condolences and prayers for his family and for squadron personnel. So important for sailors to be shipmates to one another and notice changes in mood or behavior, excessive alcohol use, depressed conversation and report as needed - take care of one another. It's not easy being in the military.....

mom of 2 sailors it saddens me to read your post. I will keep the squadron and the chief's family in my prayers. I don't understand it either. I worry all the time about my son ...military life is not easy. We all need to support them and continue to pray for all our military.  Take care.

Well after watching a wonderful inauguration yesterday we got some sad news today. We got word last week that a Chief from my one of my son's former squadron up at Whidbey Island was missing. Today we found out that he was found and had committed suicide. Both of my sons within a month of each have experienced someone in their squadron commit suicide. I just don't understand. And I don't know what to say to my son or to my "NAVY KIDS" in the squadron. Please keep VAQ132 in your prayers. And for his wife and 2 young boys.

Made cream of potato soup in the crockpot today, with homemade veggie broth, leeks and turkey ham (& a splash of dry wine). Delicious, and made me think of our Sailor - January is Soup month in our house :)
