I do want to tell all you ladies in this group that I for one am so very thankful to learn the information you give about your state. It gives me a little insight to where my daughter is living and what she is experiencing. I have lived in Ohio, California, Maryland, Georgia, and now Ohio again. But I haven't been to the upper Northwest yet. However, I hope to change that sometime soon!!!!
Thanks so much,
Anna

Marie,
I saw Barbooch's comment earlier about the weather and she said that's why many Washingtonians take a vitamin D supplement. I was wondering if that might be adding to Catherine being so down in the dumps. I think I'll mention it to her. Thanks,
Anna

I am happy that moms and wives (and I believe I spotted someone's little sister a nd a dad)on the site the other day! Isn't it wonderful that we have a place to support each other!?! I wist I had found it when my son enlisted. Happy to be here now!

Sorry Sha... Didn't mean that wives weren't welcome or just as fun as moms!

Heather no offense taken here! This is a great group of moms who all have a wonderful sense of humor! I am a native Washingtonian... moved to Las Vegas for college... couldn't wait to get back to the Northwest! Sunshine every day made me sad and homesick! I missed the seasons with spring flowers breaking through the green green grass and fall with leaves turning colors and the one or two days of snow a year!
Las Vegas was sunny and hot or sunny and cold... This northwest girl melted in the summers there! Guess it makes a difference where you grow up and what you miss when you are away from it!
Mark your calendar to visit the tulip fields next month! You will be amazed at the beautiful colors and wonderful display in the fields close to Mt. Vernon!

Barbooch,
Since my daughter arrived in WA in November and has seemed to me to be down in the dumps more often than usual, is this something I should suggest to her? I realize some of her depression is just adjusting to a new life, and life far away from family and friends but I wonder if this could help her some.

Hey everybody: How is mother nature taking care of you all? We got snow last night right at 4pm - made getting home a huge mess. Took my girlfriend two hours to get home. Made me think of all of you.
