Janie:  If you look up above here, you will see a whole list of "discussions in the Discussion Forum."  Towards the bottom of the list, you will see one for "Ship 03 Div 173.  Click on it.  That will take you to it and you can post there.  Be sure to stay on this page too though.  We N4Moms veterans are on here to give out info and to answer questions.  We don't have much time to look through the discussion groups.

Welcome to the group!

Hello everyone. Glad to be here. Son-Shawn Ship03/Div173. Talked to him Saturday. He is doing very well in boot camp.

FYI: Mail Alert. A recruit recieved a Card that plays music. He had to sing, and dance to the song in front of the whole squadron. Somewhat embarrassing for them.

Of course, as you can see, he has 2 brothers that already joking about sending Shawn Musical Cards that play "In the Navy" song, and "Row, Row, Row your boat." Ha Ha. My 3 sons are very close, easy going, fun loving, and live to pull funny pranks on each other.

Shawn said his RDC's are really loud, but they have nothing on his Water Polo Coach he had in High School. He is taking it all in stride, knows this is the career he wants, and boot camp is part of it to get where he wants to be.

Im so proud of him, and all our sons. To serve our Country, is an honor. I did it, am a USAF Vet, was proud to serve my country, and I am so proud of my son, and yours out there protecting our freedom.

I guess that's true about the nicknames, Lala Ribbon Queen. Skipper is a cute nickname. My daughter is small and very young looking too. Took her out on her last night at home to an Irish Pub in Pensacola, Fl and the hostess wanted to know if she wanted a kids menu and colors. She is almost 22! She was insulted but I told her one day she will be very glad she looks so young. She said she has several nicknames already. Some call her Tiny and one instructor calls her Velma (from Scooby Doo). I don't know Velma so I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. LOL! So glad to have you ladies in my life, I look forward to getting to my computer each morning and the last thing at night for updates. God bless you all; and God bless our recruits and keep them strong, healthy, and happy. Come on 32 more days!

That is wonderful Roses4Bid. It just makes your heart feel so good to get a call like that. Many of the RDC's will give each of them a nickname and that is what they call them the time. My daughter's nickname was Skipper, he told her it was because she looked like barbies little sister lol. Her friends from bootcamp that she has kept in contact with still call her Skipper :-)

When she got to A-school she had to go to the top floor of some building to get something signed. Not sure what the building was but that was where a bunch of CO's and XO's offices were. When she walking down the hall one of the XO's asked her if she had a permission slip from her mommy to be there lol. She has always looked much younger than she is. She could go on dates and get in the movies for the kids price and can still eat off the Kids menu in a lot of restaurants. She thinks it's a curse but I keep telling her she will appreciate it when shes 40 lol.

Hi, Hope everyone is doing okay. May 4th my son called me... It was a number I did not know. I wasnt going to answer it......Then I remember the area code. At first it was a couple of hello hellos . Then "Mom is that you?" I screamed with a joyful YES! We talked for about 23 mins... Oh he sounded good. But still my little man.. He said they all have been giving nicknames... Its hard but he is in it till the end. I told him that we are proud of him. Sending my prayers and support to all of our young adults.
