Ooppss  - another question.  What does it mean that our Division is a sponsored division?

FTLW - Thanks!  Trying hard to be patient....I know the call will be well worth it!!

Dang...on phone...I always think I catch everything!
"Seeing" not swing and my bad grammar..."their" for the there's!

kathyrc- I know its hard...no news is good news can get to be a mantra when waiting for that first call. Hang in there!
Also, just to add a little...your Division is on a "later" training schedule than 173-174. Not by much, maybe just a day...but I am going to assume that could make a difference. So depending on where they are at could make a difference...they have there first big academic test at the end of week two and so may need to be focused for that.
Calls can be very random as diannep said. The RDC's have to schedule time at the phones too...so that's another consideration. It takes time to muster up march down there etc.
Also remember that the anticipation for that first call home to a loved one has been building up for your recruits just as it has for you...it can be such an emotional call...way up, tears (though we advise that you all the not to cry...I know its hard!), relief...but there can be a real down feeling after. I had one mom mention this about her recruit. He was swing other divisions get there call and was MAD...but then when he saw some after he understood why his RDC waited. The RDC's try to judge what is needed for the divisions and individuals.
I think my sons Chief had him call after five days ... Here is my personal opinion on that.
1. Because he did not get to call from RTC upon arrival. 2. Because he was homesick...and in his case a call home boosted him up.
We have such a short time after PIR so I did not get to meet him...I really would have liked to shake his hand, actually all of my sons RDC's and say...thank you.
If you see this Chief ( your recruits are "clowns") THANK YOU!

diannep - Thanks, guess I knew this, but getting a little bit anxious.

Comment by diannep on May 3, 2012 at 11:21am

..they can also miss division calls if they have "watch."  Although some are allowed to call later in that case (happened to my son when there).

Comment by diannep on May 3, 2012 at 11:20am

175/176 may get phone calls at the same time (brother divisions)...but beyond that, I don't feel there is too much rhyme or reason for the calls----you may even get a letter with a date for a scheduled call and it may not happen.  They can lose calls for the silliest things (as a division).  So....just be patient and hoping that the calls come to you all soon!

FTLW - Just wondering....Seems like last Saturday div 173 and div 174 all got phone calls and 30 min ones too! Was hoping Sunday for div 175 and then thought for sure yesterday since it was 3 weeks since arrival. I know we can't expect anything but wondering if the calls usually go in order of division??  Also, I know that if his division is not doing well....may not get a call or would get a short one....help please!!
