For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

We are on the tale end if they are going in alpha order (which is what another mom said a day or so ago) so maybe tomorrow. I rest easier knowing the ones who have been heard from seem to be managing well. God Bless everyone and keep us all together as we get through this test of patience.

Comment by Val (Ship 09 Div 171) on May 2, 2012 at 10:17pm: Barbi-so glad you got letters!!! ;) and sarasmom-my call came at 4pm!! I was freaking out when I saw it said IL. After days of carrying the phone almost EVERYWHERE I thought I might have ruined it by dropping the phone!! It really was a blessing my husband was there to help me not break down!! I know "no news is good" but I have just been worried and sick every day. He did not say when another call would come, and said he has good days and bad! The call lasted about 10 min so we didn't feel super rushed. I hope everyone gets there call soon!! ;)
