Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by diannep on May 2, 2012 at 8:24pm: Yep, kathrync is correct. Calls can come at any time...even "scheduled" calls. So just have your phone handy. Remember to take it with you to the mailbox and to the bathroom because many have missed calls during those times!

I was glad my husband was home because he was able to remain calm while we talked and asked our questions. I hope everyone gets calls and I pray peace for our recruits tonight!! ;)

We will have my 3 yrs old granddaughter with us, is there a zoo nearby? Any special places we should try to see...might be limited on what time our son has... Thanks!

I had missed a call from my son, while he was in BC, and he left a voicemail. I saved that voicemail (and actually still have it on my phone) and I still listen to it when I need to hear his sweet voice.
