Kathyrc - no i haven't received anything yet. Haven't been home yet today...so hoping! Looks like some of the other div have, so maybe we are next!
I can't imagine getting 10 at one time like some of the others though...my son isn't much of a writer. I sure do hope I get a few soon!

I got one fat envelope from my husband today, 10 pages of super tiny writing. I also laughed... but mostly cried. I guess he hasnt been getting my letters yet ): But seeing his handwriting gave me something of his to hold on to and I feel a lot better.

Received three letters from my daughter today. I was so thrilled as I laughed and cried while I read them.

C's proud mom - Any calls or letters yet from your son??  I know it may be a little early, but they are on the same ship and division.  I have not heard a word - which is supposed to be good...getting a little anxious.

Makaha's mom, I am not sure because a couple things can happen. In the past the Sailors got to spend a few minutes with their families and then they spent the next 4-5 hours moving their stuff to the base across the street. If they do that you will pick her up at her new base after she has checked in there. She will call you when you can pick her up. Then you can pick her up again on Saturday and Sunday and spend most of the day with her. There is a chance she may have watch at some point during the weekend but the Sailors who don't have family there usually volunteer to take the watches. I heard that one of the recent PIR groups Sailors who were staying in Great Lakes didn't move to their new base until Monday so their families still picked them up at Recruit Training Command (bootcamp base) each day and returned them each evening. So I am unsure of how it will work out for you. The A-school base is just across the street from bootcamp base so still a very short drive. Please come back after PIR weekend and let us know how it all worked for you and your Sailor and where she spent the weekend.

10 letters is quite impressive :-) Some will write more like a journal throughout the week instead of writing several letters. How come Moms never get 10 letters? lol :-)
