Well, I didn't get a call today...I'm kinda bummed, but hope that my SR is actually a sailor who had to stand watch or something and so missed getting her call.  She spoke to her best friend Sunday and told him to tell me she'd call me today...but nothing.  I hope I didn't miss it, my cell didn't show any missed calls, but I was out most of the day getting my car worked on and running errands in preparation for the trip to PIR...sigh...maybe I'll hear from her tomorrow.  Does anyone know what airport they fly out of?  I am flying into/out of Midway, but my daughter said we could hang out with her in the airport Friday night...just didn't say which airport!  I need to print directions from O'Hare to Midway or Milwaukee to Midway, if they don't fly from Midway, and I have to do it before I leave before dawn on Thursday a.m.!  I won't have a computer or printer available while I am up there.

My name is Gloria.  I just popped in to say Congratulations to those how have new Sailors and Good Luck to those still waiting.

My son PIR's this time last year.  For those able to attend PIR, enjoy your time with them.  The journey is just beginning and they will still have ups and downs.  Its part of journey.  Enjoy it with them and continue to remain encouraging.

Congrats to all the new Sailors!!!

Maybe she means 10 am since they usually go to the airport between 2 and 5 am. If it's 10 pm maybe they don't do to the airport until later in the afternoon. But everyone I have heard of go to the airport in the wee hours of the morning and stays there until time for their flight.

Make sure you have them write down all the flight info when they go back to their rack after PIR and bring it back to you so you end up at the right airport at the right time and right airline and gate etc :-)

My deliriously tired daughter called to let us know that she is a sailor! We talked about all sorts of things including our visit for PIR. She said that she was flying out saturday at 10:00 pm and could visit with us for about 6 hours at the airport. This seems like a strange departure time to me. Any thoughts?

JGMom - You are soooo sweet!  Thank you too.  I hope we are able to meet.  I am really excited and we are leaving very early tomorrow morning!  Best wishes to you and all the others....

We saw a Sailor at the mall sitting on one of the comfy chairs and had his girlfriend/wife/female lol in his lap hanging all over him. I was in shock and so was my Sailor. When she saw him she said he was an idiot and if he got caught the whole DIV would be in trouble and be punished the next day. She was glad he was not in her division.
