Others have had to do IT (intense training) the whole time the music played until the battery was dead. Hr probably doesn't want any cards because he doesn't want them to know it's his birthday. He probably doesn't want to draw any attention to himself at all and who can blame him for that lol.

Hi ladies...I was just curious regarding the questionnaires that you all have been talking about.  Where do you find them, or do you guys make up your own?  Also, prayers going up to keep Hurricane Irene away...and I appreciate the information on the letters sent to boot camp.  Our son has a birthday next month and he said NOT to send cards.  Does anyone have any experience with that?  I knew one mom who sent a musical card and she said her son said not to do that, the RDC took the musical part out and held it by their head and kept replaying it.  Just curious if others had any problems with plain cards.  As of right now, just planning on sending a birthday letter! :)  I am hoping my form letter comes today as he has been there a week.  Thanks again.  I really need to get a picture up, but I am so not good at that type of thing!

Good morning Ladies!

Anxiously awaiting my form letter.  Not sure if anyone has posted about this, but there is a weekly trivia contest on the RTC facebook page, prize is a picture of your sailors division posted on their page!  Not sure if I'll win, but I'm going to give it a shot.

Thank you all so much about the letter writing info! I definately would have, excuse me, pushed the envelope on that one:) So glad I didn't cause him another difficulty. I hooe I get my letter today. I miss him so much that I've been lethargic and not doing much. Gonna get on that letter this morning! Thanks

Anne welcome to the group.  If you have ne questions or just need to talk send a message or post it.  We are all here to help one another and to support our SR.  My son left last week along with some of the other moms that have joined and then there are the veteran moms too.  They have all been a great support system.

prayers going up diannep.  Hope you are all safe and no damage during this hurricane season.  I guess the letter I have written since he has been gone needs to be separated and each day put into an envelope of its own and mailed bc as of right now it is 4 pages long and I still don't have an address to send it to. LOL  I was planning on typing it ne way so I can put pictures on the back of it.  thanks for all the info you guys are helping so much.

On a side note...please pray Hurricane Irene away!  We are in Miami so it is quite close.  Many of us have vivid memories of the damage Hurricane Andrew did to us and the rebuilding that followed (our damage over $100,000 and a yr of rebuilding)....and even though this one is not as strong, we are a bit gunshy now with any hurricanes!  Thanks!
