For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Hi Everyone
I'm new to this site, my name is Janet..I have an 18 year old son Kyle who just left for Basic on Tuesday. I am so proud of Kyle. But this has got to be the most difficult thing I have every lived through as a parent so far. Saying goodbye to him after his swear in on Tuesday was heartbreaking. I was much better today and then it happened....THE BOX....I couldn't believe that BOX came already... and inside my sweet boy sent a note, he wrote "I'm sure…

The recruiter said ship 9 division 342 but i have not received my letter yet.
Hi Janet! No letter today :( Trying to stay positive but its so hard..I even went and got him a few cards to send just as soon as I get it..Not to mention I have written him everyday too so he will have lots to read :) Yes that would be wonderful if all our boys are together if not would still love to meet up with all moms since we have all become friends and been through it together. I love this site it really helps meeting other moms that love and support their children too :) I love it!! We have the greatest kids and I know we all just miss them so much! I didnt receive the letter but recruiter said ship 9 division 342 but it could change and he wasnt able to tell me the PIR date either so I am hopeing to get my letter very soon....congrat on getting your info im sure it brings some much needed relief. Kathie

Hi kylesmom im so glad that u commented on my blog. im just wondering do u think it ever gets any easier? My daughter is the oldest of 5 and we just can't seem to grasp the fact that she's not here. btw what hotel did u reserve of been researching but everyone has different answers also what day do u think graduation is i was suspecting around october 23 or the 24. thanks a bunch. you helped me feel a little better and not so alone in the situation. Wow I read your blog post & it was so easy to relate. My son turns 19 on Sept. 21st. We have to give kudos to these boys for being able to walk away from everything & everyone they know to face the unknown. I know I could have never done it so apparently I am a much better teacher then doer! LOL So glad I found this group so I can talk to people who really can relate!
