HI Sue.  Looks like your son is graduating this Friday, right?  Congrats!  I can't wait.  My son's is Oct 21.  Yes it is nice to see another mom going through the same thing and so close by.  How are you doing getting your scrapbook stuff together?  No my son did not play softball.  How are you doing?

Hi Sue,

My son's rank is ET-NAV (navigation). He graduated from RTC on May 26, 2011. He left for Groton the next morning. It was a week or two before he started BESS (basic enlisted submarine school). That lasts about 8 weeks. Next he went through ATT (advanced technical training-electronics). He just graduated from that and is now on ACU (no sure what the stands for but it means they are waiting to class up). Next he will go to TCNO (technical computer networking). That should be 4-5 weeks. After that he will go A-school for his rank (NAV). That could be 6-9 months.

You don't get a lot of info about subs cause it's so top secret. This site helps alot cause you can ask those that have sons/husbands that have been through it.

You have a smart guy....they don't let just anyone into subs. Proud...proud...proud!

I was able to put my son's phone on Military suspension with no cost at all.  My carrier is AT&T and I did it all over the telephone, and computer.  They just need a copy of his contract and ID.  I copied before he left.  Good luck!    By the way my son left on 26 of July and I haven't received form letter.  I thought I would get it with box.  Exactly what is the form letter?  please help.  Thanks!
