03/10/12 - Sunny in Chicago!

For all you moms across the country, just thought I'd share that it's a beautiful day here in Illinois today.  Sunny and 60 but a bit windy.  Forecast says that 70s are coming this week.  Maybe our SRs will get to do some of their physical training outdoors.  A mom can hope anyway!  :)

Nuke A School Graduation

Does anyone know anything about A school graduation for those in Nuke school? It's a long way from home and I'm trying to decide if I should go or not?  I would really like to, but I'm on the Canadian border and he's in Charleston and I'd only have 3 days to go.

MEPS DAY part 1, recap

Erin went to MEPS today. She went to take the DLAB first, while the rest of them went on to medical. After an extremely stress filled test she went to the bathroom and then proceeded to medical. Oops! Shy bladder syndrome then set in and she could not go for them. She cleared everything else on her medical. She wouldn't have finished processing today anyway because the 'intel shop' would not have had time to get her 'whatever they do' approved and sent back in time for contract and swearing…

My Son in Boot Camp

Well my son Justin left to boot camp on Feb 1st and I have to say it has been harder than I anticipated.  I miss him soo much.  I have been getting letters once a week and he actually called me.  I was soo excited to hear his voice.  Only a couple more weeks until he graduates and I am looking forward to seeing him and hugging him.  I always look forward to getting his letters and I write him twice a week.

Moving to Norfolk

Hello, Everyone.   I am looking for some advice for my daughter and son-in-law.  They were blessed with their first child on February 17 but on February 29, my son-in-law was sent to Pensacola for a month's schooling and told that he would be transfered to Norfolk (my daughter joined him in Groton, CT the middle of January so that they could be together for the birth of their daughter) when he was done.  As part of his checkout, they gave notice to the housing and need to be out by April 3. …
