When our daughter joined the Navy in November, July seemed so long off. There was so many things to do. At that time there was Christmas to look forward to and then senior prom and then Graduation. I thought once Christmas was over time would fly.... well she just left for her senior prom and she has 13 days left of school. Time seems to be flying. Dont get me wrong... I am so proud of her and support her decision. She has a great recruiter and the support she has received through the DEP…

After we got home from our friends daughter's baptism and then had lunch at a wonderful resturant in downtown Houston, we can home and checked our mail to see we have received the standard letter from our son containing his address and information about graduation, he graduates 12 days after my birthday. What a wonderful birthday present this year. I was so excited thinking it was an actual letter from him. But it is okay because I now have his address and will send my first letter out on…

Was wondering what the wait is for Weelings court or Port Lyautey. I've been told one year and longer, not sure if they just tell you that on account of the demand to live there. I have looked into the schools there and have heard good things and bad about Cox high and was wondering if anyone has there child there. Worried about the things that I have read and would love some info. My family will be moving this summer it would be nice to hear from someone that knows and get real info and put…

Looking forward to seeing my youngest son in a few weeks when the ship docks in Pearl Harbor. He's been on deployment on the CV for the past few months. We get to spend a few days enjoying the island then a few more days together on the cruise back to San Diego. 4 days after returning home my middle son will be home on leave from Florida for 2 weeks. So excited!!!!

After a really bad day at work I came home to find my son's box has arrived. I received a phone call on my cell phone with and IL area code and I got very excited then worried that something was wrong and the call turned out to be a recording from Shaquille O'Neal for the March of Dimes. I guess no news is good news. Looking forward to next week; hopefully I will receive a letter from my son. Hope tomorrow morning traffic is better than this morning and I hope the attorney who pissed me…

I received my "Box" today. I kind of thought today would be the day I just pointed to it and asked my youngest to take it to Jordan's room. Then I couldn't swallow, catch my breath and started to cry. This last for about 3 or 4 minutes then it came to me. Thank God my Box was cardboard and not wood! At that moment I saw this as my son's future and not the end to his childhood. My heart goes out to all the loved ones of our military men and women who have had to receive the wooden box. May…
