My recruit shipped 5/10 to BC but his letter to grandparents (glad he wrote them first) said he was delayed and holding until 5/23 when the ship was full. He is in ship 12. His form letter has two grad dates....7/6 and 7/13. I assume that I go with the 7/13 date? How do we know for sure? No correspondence from him at all.
I miss my son although he was a righteous, lazy, unfocused pain in the keister while home. We could not tolerate his choices or behavior and he longed for…

Good afternoon everyone. My daughter has two more weeks of boot camp god willing everything goes well. Can anyone who already went through this tell me when you find out where your loved one will be stationed. Do they find out in boot camp or do they find out during A school ?! Thanks in advance.

We dropped him off at the hotel and were able to have dinner with him. I could tell he was anxious and we said our "see ya laters and cried and hugged tight". He text me later that evening that his roommate at the hotel was nice and that they watched the game.
Next day, his dad and I headed to MEPS. I suggest getting their early like we did because their system went down and we had to wait. Then we got the okay to go ahead to the MEPS building. When he arrived I immediately saw…

Today is the day, we drop him off at the hotel. I’m going to try hard to contain myself & tomorrow we’ll see him do his final swear in and the Friday countdown begins. #navyboy #boymeetsworld
I received a letter from my son today. The first one for about a month. He is doing good with being set back. He sees this as more time to get better. He assured me he will get it done and not to worry. He kept apologizing to me for the "hassle". I had to send him a Sandboxx so tomorrow he will see that there was no hassle just worry for how he was doing. Now I know his head is in the game, I can relax. His new division he said was weird. Just before he went into it, they got a new RDC, they…

Today is a weird day. My son (I am pretty sure) would have been in Battlestation 21 tonight. My friends, I made on this site are receiving their "I am Sailor" calls; my sons old Division won the Captains cup. I am so happy for his division and friends, a little jealous they get to hug their Sailors. I really wish I could talk with him and see how he is doing. His new division got to make phone calls and mothers reported talking for an hour. Logically I know he should have been running but…

We're one week away from our son to leave for BT. Thus far I'm still crying daily in anticipation of him leaving. This week is his last week of work at his job. That's going to be a hard one for him because he loves his job and the people he works with. He's been hanging out with his friends, not sure when they're going to say there good byes. Two of his friends now are wanting to join, and they need to, but they haven't done it yet. He's been meeting with his recruiter and I'm hoping…

I have been talking with several of the mother's on this site and in the new division. I feel this is going to be good and all will work in the end. The new division sounds good and close, plus he is on the USS Arizona. That ship has always been special to me. I have been able to visit twice now. I am seeing good signs and feeling the love of the other mothers. The worst really is no letters for a few weeks and was looking forward to hugging my son. I can make the 3 weeks until I see him and…

This is the reason we keep saying No news is good news. I got a call. He has been set back 3 weeks, it was his run time. My heart hurts for him. He wants to so bad. I hope the 3 weeks does him good because I don't know what will happen if he can't do it. All I can do is pray and change my travel plans.

No letter today. I know he is busy but I am really disappointed. I sent him 2 different questionnaires to make it easier and still nothing. I really want to know his Nuke Rate, how he is doing on his running and how he did on fire arms. This is supposed to be his weekend to call but with Mother's day I don't know if he will be able too.
NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS! NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS! repeat
The good news is, his graduation in in 2 weeks and he is still at boot camp.…

Hello everyone! I just joined this Navy site in hopes of finding others like me who are new/have navy boyfriends and struggle with the distance. We have been best friends for over 4 years now and we have been a couple for over 2 years. We love each other very much and would do anything for each other but the distance is something i've never been good at. I am very emotional as many females are ad I need attention from the person I love. I live in Miami currently and moved here from NYC and…

My son leaves for BT on the 29th of this month. We're super proud of his decision, but of course as a parent I worry. I'm calm at times, but then it hits me during the day and I randomly cry that its getting closer in the days coming that he will be leaving. I know its not going to be forever, but we've never been apart. His three brothers and his dad are putting on a brave face for now, but I know when the 29th roles around they're going to loose it. In all, we know he's going to do…

My son left for boot camp on April 26th. We haven’t received a letter yet, but I was wondering if they might get to call home on Mother’s Day. Thanks for any info. Ready to hear from him.

The recruit training center posted pictures today and I think I see my son. I know he is short but wow, if it is him the guys are huge in his division. The stance and everything is just like my son. I had hoped they got the slouch out of him, but that looks like his slouch.…

I received another letter from my son. It was much shorter since he didn't have to rest his leg. He said that tomorrow he should no his rate in the nuke program. I asked the Nuke moms how they decide. It is as the Navy Needs. A sorting hat was suggested which lead to my daughter going off a tale about and Magic Navy Hat that reads my sons thoughts. She said she hopes he chants "not Slytherin" so he can have Gryffindor instead.
He is tired but good.…

So I just received my first letter and my daughter seems like she is doing good but never realized how tuff this really is there. I’m so proud of her!! She also said they dyed her hair a light brown! Does anyone know why they make you do that?! Her hair is naturally blonde! Seems crazy!

Please don't attack me, I've literally never posted on a forum site before this one. I don't even know if this is the right place to post.
Anyway, to start off, I am a 20-year-old (21 in September) university student who has just returned from studying abroad in Japan for a semester. I stayed in Kawasaki, and was using a bunch of dating apps at the time, so naturally, I picked up the odd sailor or two stationed in Yokosuka. My home in the states is actually near New London/Groton CT,…

Just a quick question. Does anyone know if they fail the 2nd or 3rd run do they send them home like failing the first run or do they just hold them back till they pass and delay the graduation?! Thanks in advance.
