7 More Days...

7 more days, it just doesnt seem real... and the closer it gets if I ponder to long it is hard to breath.  I know this is all God's plan and I know he will do great, its just going to be hard not to hear his laugh not to see his smiling face and empty room.  So proud and looking forward to the man is he going to become.  Just trying to soak it all in :)

SHIP 12 DIV 306 GRADUATION SEPT 21. Anyone else?

Hi There,

I enjoy this site very much. Has helped me this week big time!  I'm having trouble finding a group who's kids reported July 30th.  My son arrived Monday, I got "THE CALL", I got "THE BOX" but I thought I'd have his address by now. I was hoping to chat w/ others who's kids are at the same level/report day as my son Zach.

Waiting wishes.

I'll admit it. I forget. I forget way too easily.  I get caught up with everyday normal things. I hate my job. I'm looking for a new one. I hate my stupid school schedule that forces me to be on campus five days a week, even if tuesdays I only have to be there for an hour. I hate the way my mother nags. About my room. About moving out. About my sailor.

Wait. I've got something to be thankful for. My sailor.…

Graduation Question

Hi Ladies! I have a question....maybe more like a decision I need you all to help me with. My son will graduate bootcamp September 21, 2012. He is a "grad and go" to Pensacola. My understanding of that is he, well, graduates and goes! LOL!  I dont think he will have any time with us, I have heard they can leave anywhere from immediately after PIR to that Sunday. I want to be there for PIR, will need to book a flight for his dad and I. So I'm wondering - would it be better to skip PIR…

So laundry is done,…

To all the moms out there who's son/daughter is in bootcamp. Yes, it is VERY hard waiting out the time to hear from them. But when you do, there will be tears of joy. I've been thru it so I know. And... For the better, they do change. My son became a man. He now has a future. His dad and I are very proud parents. Continue

Asthma

I have a sailor that just graduated from boot camp and now my other son wants to join which I am all for .  My questions is I know that if you have asthma they will not take you but what about sports induced asthma when they

were in middle school.  He is not on anything for it.  Does he have a chance of getting in

A letter from our pets

Today, I decided to write a letter "from" our pets to my son, Josh. He has been really depressed lately and I felt the need to try to cheer him up!!

In the letters, I included pictures and referred to them as if they were the ones writing the letter. IE: our little mini weiner dog (who Josh trained to sneeze when she wants cheese) as well as our Australian Shepherd who seems to think it is okay for him to get in the trash because it smells like chicken and pizza. Words from our cat…

My son left for boot camp yesterday

I had no idea how hard it would be to say good bye. I went to MEPS yesterday to watch him swear in and spend a few hours with him before he left. I'm a wreck. I can't stop crying. I feel so silly for feeling this way but it's so hard. I'm trying to think positive thoughts but the tears keep coming. Please tell me this gets easier.

A little concerned about my son being depressed

Well, I received another letter from Josh yesterday and he seemed to be in decent spirits and mentioned that the food is "actually pretty good", which made me feel better. However, he also made a couple of comments about being depressed over concerns that his girlfriend will not want to wait for him and lately has been regretting his decision to join. In all of my letters, I try to send encouraging thoughts and remind him to stay strong and focused but I worry that if he really starts…
