Hello, I am new to this website and very excited to finally be able to talk to some people who can relate to what we’re all enduring! I am 22, enrolled in Nursing school, and reside in FL. My boyfriend has been in the Navy for about 2 years now and is serving his first deployment. We have been dating for 9 months now and he’s been overseas for 2 months on September 15. I miss him like crazy! He is an aircrewman and currently very involved with Syria which always has me a nervous wreck! I…

So yesterday was the big day. I left home at 11 and arrived at the vistior center at 3:33. We wait 3 hours then we heard the chanting. A huge group of men and women came marching down the sidewalk. And then i saw him. My boyfriend looked at me and smiled. I waited at the gate til he came out...it was the best moment of my life. Ill never ever forget that first moment when i hugged him... the first time ive seen him in 60 days. It was so cool. We got to hang out for 3 hours. First we had to…

What should can I expect from here? He got there at 10 last night and I'm just curious as to what they could be doing right now and what I should expect :) Also, at what point do they take their cell phones?

Everyday I receive an email from the Navy through a service called gov delivery.com Anyone can sign up for it. I don't have the link but if you google "sign up for gov delivery" I think that will lead you through it. I usually get a photo of the day and the top news stories from around the Navy. It has been such a great way to keep up with my sailor while he's been deployed. I can at least get a general idea of where he's at. I was able to follow the USS Nimitz to port in South Korea…

My fiance's mom and I just dropped him off at MEPS to send him to the hotel. Tomorrow we'll be seeing him swear in for the last time before he heads out to Great Lakes and my god. My fiance and his mom are pretty much a military family. His dad was in the Army and his dad before him, so goodbye is pretty easy for them. I on the other hand come from a emotional type family lol. I held it in as much as I could while I was with his mom so she didn't think I was overreacting but when we got back…

My son is getting ready for PIR on Sept 6th and I am so thankful for this site. I was able to learn everything I needed (and his other family members as well) about the ceremony and process to get in. I have read a lot of posts and been encouraged although I haven't really commented on any.
My cousin is getting ready to end his time with the Navy in December and he has also been sharing a lot of useful information with me, but I must admit this site has been wonderful. I hope that as…
