Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Well, the day arrived...the one I've read about, looked forward to, and yes, even dreaded. My oldest son called me at work to let me know that there was a box from my youngest son. He told me he put it in the living room and asked me if I wanted him there when I opened it, "in case I freaked out". I laughed and told him no, I would be fine. First weekend without my son - it was a tough one. Especially Sunday - our family is all part of a fantasy football league and Sunday's were busy and loud at our house as we all watched the games, to see how our teams did and how we all did against each other. It was so quiet at home this weekend. His brother and sister were gone this weekend so there was no one around to watch the games with me. Did some cleaning, some organizing - laundry - the usual.

Day 3: It doesn't help that its raining here, and all dark and gloomy - I was already feeling a little on the blue side. Then, as my husband and I were driving to work, what song pops into my head????
