I received my fist phone call from my SR who is in div 222. He said he is the RPOC of division 222, which means that he is responsible in making sure everyone in his division gets to where they are to be on time, and if they are late, he pays the price. Wow...I am so proud and so impressed!!! He said that he passed his swim test and has gained 10 pounds already. His division was the first to receive their dog tags too. He said he had to go and get ready for…

My son is leaving for Boot Camp on May 23rd.....I will be there when he takes oath and leaves but I'm worried about how hard it's going to be to say goodbye to his family and friends and I don't know if I can be strong and not break down which will make it worse for him.

Before he left we got news that as soon as a house is open i would be allowed to follow him to cuba which made us both very happy. He left yesterday and it was way harder than i expected it to be. We didnt sleep at all that night cause we were crying to much. We spent our morning at the airport…

Hello all,
This my first post... I was extremely happy to receive my daughter's letter and to talk to her on the phone. She sounds absolutley great. I'm glad because if she were to tell me that she wants to come home or that she doesn't think she can continue on; it would just break my heart, beacause I don't think I would be able to take it. The funny thing about this is that my son was in the Navy and I didn't go through all of these emotions. I mean I was sad to see…

11 days till our son leaves for Great Lakes. We had his party this past weekend and it was amazing how many people showed up to say goodbye. Everyone had something wonderful to say about him and we were just beaming with pride. Today he is at the Recruiters for another meetup; he has been asked to attend a recruiting session at his high school next week and he was honored to be asked. It will also give him a chance to say goodbye to his…
ContinueMy new son-i-law left for the Navy today. He and my daughter were married last Friday. Very emotional day for her (really for all of us). She will be living with us and finishing her master's program for nursing while he is in BC and A school, then not sure where he will be. We are from the midwest and just wondering where he will end up.

I am really struggling with not hearing his voice, he has left home several times but I could always talk to him and make sure he was ok. I know he is going to be ok, I just need to hear his voice. His phone was sent home, and he doesn't have a calling card, but I don't have an address to send one to him yet. It is so difficult. I received his box, I just wish the letter would come. I have calling cards from callsforrecruits. they were great I sent the email and have the cards, but…

There's truly nothing like getting an email from your sailor! I was in the middle of writing him one, and I got one! He is so sweet. He never really mentions anything of what is going on (he most likely cant anyways) but he always is reassuring that he's doing okay and he misses me and loves me. On Valentine's Day, I gave him a journal and showed him mine as well (they were matching in his favorite color-teal) and so I told him that we could write in them if our communication was limited…
