Feeling nervous

I received her box today. She messed the address up twice and wrote her phone number on the box instead of mine. I can only imagine she must have been very scared and stressed as she was writing that. But it does name me wonder if I will receive any of her letters in the future. Guess I’ll just go do her dirty laundry for now.

Son arrived at boot camp Dec. 13

My youngest son arrived at boot camp on Dec. 13 I thought it would be easier for me since I already have a son in the Navy, but it is still hard going through this process.

Christmas at Boot Camp

Hi there!  Merry Christmas to everyone!

My son entered Boot Camp on November 22.  He is in division 083.  I had hoped for a call at Christmas, but alas, did not get one.  It's not like it was promised or anything, I just miss him and had hoped for one.

So, what did they do on Christmas at Boot Camp?  I can't seem to find much.   I don't think he is far enough along to be part of the Adopt-A-Sailor group.  Did they have a full/regular day?  Did he get or do anything special? …

Nervous Mom

I am not sure if or who I can reach to find out what the results are and when she  will be able to retest. They only allowed her less than  5 mins to call and of  course was in tears the whole…

New to this...

My daughter left and reported on November 13 and we got her phone call that she was safe and sound on November 14th.

I haven't heard from her since.  I have no idea what to expect and when she might call again.  Haven't got her address to send things to her, letters.  She did say it might be a while though.

We did get her box back a week later with all her stuff.

I am at a loss... can anyone help with what I can expect or when I might get to talk to her?

Remember Highschool Football Stadium Seats?

I am so glad I haven’t donated or disposed of the stadium seats I used for highschool and college games.  Packing three for trip to PIR.  Yes...taking 2 extra for my SR’s father and aunt.

Have spoken with with my son 3 times today.  He warned me about the bleachers at PIR and be prepared to walk a lot.  I’m very practical.  I may near my muck boots for the track to the graduation the put on my nicer shoes once I arrive.  Maybe I will purchase a clear vinyl bag to carry them…

I Finally Had A Glimpse Of My Son!!!!

U.S. Navy Recruit Training Command blessed me with a glimpse of my son marching in the snow with his ship mates.  He looks great!!!!!  He looks confident and proud!!!!  I cried like a baby.  I am still planning to knock him on the back of his head like Gibbs does DeNozo on NCIS because I have not received ONE letter.  I have been a worried mother hen only to find out he is doing great!!!!  I took a screen shot and forwarded it to everyone I know.  The happy smirk was there.  It will be such…

First phone call

Finally heard from my son this morning. They just allowed an hour of phone calls. Since after the 5 vaccinations were given, he’s been suffering cold and congested and he sounds awful on the phone and not taking any medication for it. Thank God, no fever. My son was chosen as a Port Leader in his division. Being a division leader, he's the first to wake up and the last one to go to bed. So he's sleep and rest deprived.  Poor baby. His…

New Navy Mom

What a treat to get a 3 page letter from my Son.  Its actually the first letter I have ever recieved from him. To know that he is doing well and truly stepping up to be a leader.  This experience is one of the best.. I am so looking forward to getting more letters from him to hear how his adventure is going. Knowing that he is learning new skills and truly becoming the man I know him to be.

Letters are coming!

My family received letters from my son yesterday so I was very excited to get home from work to get his letter, only to be saddened that my mail box was empty. The one thing I’ve learned from this new experience is patience. Hopefully something arrives today!  The good thing is I got his address and immediately sent out a card with a short note. I use SENDOUTCARDS. So easy!  I will be using SANDBOXX for my longer letters. My sons PIR is 11/30. I can’t wait to give him the biggest hug!
