My son got his wings in May 2011 in Pensacola. I was at a loss as to what gift to give an officer who just got his wings. I am glad that I found this site because the gift ideas were quite helpful, especially the winging set from Larry Cleveringa. The beautiful cherry framed set includes follow on aircraft, pictures of 2 other aircraft they have flown, 1 set pilot wings, and custom engraving (information about your pilot). The craftsmenship and care put into this set is evident when you see…

So I'm considering this as Day 1 of my boyfriend's boot camp adventure, because the last 2 days have been travel days and he's been able to call me every chance he got.
I've been through A LOT in my life and I think today is by far the hardest. It's the first day I actually don't get to hear his voice or even get a stupid text message from him. I can't even tell you how many times I've picked up my phone to text him, remembering just in time that by the time he can…

Aloha!
Received a letter from my daughter informing us that is is okay (thank you Jesus!) She informed us with her PIR date along with her ship/division# However, I still have not received the official letter. Should I be concerned? Would like to make travel arrangements but I read somewhere to wait.
Anxiously waiting for the Office Letter!

My son signed into the FTS program because "active duty" jobs were not available at the time. He spent almost 2 years getting weight off and med waivers to be accepted, and was just tired of waiting. He wanted in and wanted in now. He left for boot camp Thursday July 7th.I was wondering if he'll be able to request/choose an A-school in boot camp, then a duty station after he is through. We are still learning about FTS program, though we support him 100% even though he's not "active". We've…

Well....it's been a little over 3 months since Logan took his oath...he is supposed to leave Dec.15th for a hospital corpsman position...but just last week, Logan decided he is tired of waiting around, so he spoke with his recruiter, and he is now on a list to possibly leave sooner (if a job becomes available)...I can see where he is coming from...but that doesnt make his leaving any easier...in fact this is worse...I may have NO TIME to prepare when it actually happens now...as from what i…
