Since my son decided to enlist I like many other Navy moms have experienced a myriad of emtions. I have cried and cried, mostly in private, sometimes in sadness other times with pride, and still other times simply with the fear of the unknown. i have laughed with my son, teased him about all the cleaning he will do, the foods he WONT be eating and reminded him of how much he likes to sleep and how much I will try to sleep for him. I have read with interest how each Mom deals with the changes…

With Fathers Day this Sunday I just want to know that as a wife and a mom I wouldn't have the fine young men that I have the prevlidge of calling my sons.
My sailor son wanted to join the Navy when he was eight years old and watched "Top Gun", I know my son isn't the only one who was influenced by that movie, but God had it in…

"Hey Mom, I want to join the Navy."
"You want to what, with whom, hello, why?
And with those words the roller coaster began, my life turned upside down and my little boy, my only child who I had raised by myself began to grow up. At first, all I could do was cry. He was my only son, an only grandchild. My father had given his life for our country and I thought, "Dear God, not my son." I was convinced he was making the wrong decision and he was convinced he was making the right…

Hi,
I am a spouse of a Sailor that will be joining the Uss Bonhomme Richard on Monday morning. We have been here in San Diego about 2 1/2 weeks and he will be leaving for a couple of months. I have a one year old daughter and would like to try and find a Mother's Day Out program for a couple of day a week. Is anyone familiar with any in the area. We live at the Avion at Spectrum apartments and I am not familiar with the area at all.
Are there any events or get…
