Yes, I am having a difficult time not being able to see my son when I want to. He left for boot camp this past January and is now attending A School. I knew I was going to miss him and that it was going to be hard not having him around, but I did not think it was going to leave this huge void in my life. As a mom you spend every waking hour making sure your child’s needs are being met. Enjoying the time you have with them as they grow up whether it is a joyful time or a sad time and then…

My boyfriend just got to RTC last night. Yesterday was a very emotional day but I know its just going to be so worth it in the end. I cant even explain how proud of him I am already and its only been a day. I already cant wait to see him at PIR. Just waiting for his address from his recruiter, they said that they will have it in 2 or 3 days so then I can start writing him right away. I knew that this was going to be a hard time for me but I feel like its not going to be as bad as I thought.…

I've spent my life deliberately keeping a very healthy distance between myself and the military. I was recruited by a couple of the intelligence groups, Army and Navy, and chose a business route for my career instead. My daughter was recruited by the same intelligence groups, as well as a couple military branches, and the State Department. She chose the State Department and loves her life moving from place to place, overseas or here in the US, and likely won't…

another day closer and it does not seem that far away now. at first i was at a loss, and now that i just got my second call from him yesterday and i am waiting for my second letter this week, i can now see a light at the end of the tunnel. He seems to be in great spirits and his mind is where it needs to be with the focus on being a sailor.
I loved hearing from him and though there are some trying times for him .....it is boot camp and i am very proud of my son for finding the "right…

I just found out I am going to need a passport in order to go with my husband. I did some research online and found that I can expidite one to get it here faster but that is very costly. Is there anything the military can do for me or am I on my own with this.

I received my fist phone call from my SR who is in div 222. He said he is the RPOC of division 222, which means that he is responsible in making sure everyone in his division gets to where they are to be on time, and if they are late, he pays the price. Wow...I am so proud and so impressed!!! He said that he passed his swim test and has gained 10 pounds already. His division was the first to receive their dog tags too. He said he had to go and get ready for…

My son is leaving for Boot Camp on May 23rd.....I will be there when he takes oath and leaves but I'm worried about how hard it's going to be to say goodbye to his family and friends and I don't know if I can be strong and not break down which will make it worse for him.

my husband graduated april 12 from san antonio ma a school and got to spend the last two weeks at home before heading to cuba. They were a great 2 weeks and my only complaint is they went by two fast. Before he left we got news that as soon as a house is open i would be allowed to follow him to cuba which made us both very happy. He left yesterday and it was way harder than i expected it to be. We didnt sleep at all that night cause we were crying to much. We spent our morning at the airport…
