My son just graduated on July 14th, I am so proud of him. I come from a huge family and there was about 19 of us who got to greet him after the ceremony. He was so happy to see everyone. While he was in boot camp I wrote him everyday, he says it helped out a lot to get mail. All 19 of us went to the airport to see him off and all I could do is cry, he is now in San Antonio, Texas. It is easier because he has access to his cell phone so I could just text him or call him. He has tons of…

On 7/11/17 my baby girl left on her journey to boot camp, it's something she's always wanted to do
so as her mom I'm going to support her life choices, I did my crying away from her but we did share a mommy daughter moment the night before where she told me the hardest part is leaving me. It's
hard, but I know I raised Keyana well and I know she has been preparing her mind and her body for this day. Not being to talk to her is the hardest part for me the longest she's…

The years have flown by!!! It' has been four years since my son left for boot camp, graduated and stationed to San Diego. I still remember when he left for boot camp, and I was a nervous wreck!! I worried about him, is he ok, will he pass all the tests, etc. Graduation came & I was so proud!! I'm still proud of him. He has grown since he has joined the Navy. As of July 7th, he had left for deployment. Do I know where his ship going? NO!! All I know he's deployed for 7 months! …

Are there any other members on here using the Sandboxx app. I downloaded it and have used it 3 times but from the letters from my child she hasn't mentioned getting anything yet from them. I'm just curious if any other recruits have mentioned receiving their Sandboxx letters.

Today we take my future sailor down to San Diego. Tomorrow morning she swears in and is off on the next chapter of her life. I have been feeling anxiety off and on and I'm not really sure if I should share my emotions or hide them. I have had other military moms who have been through this tell me "whatever you do, don't let her see you cry. Wait till she's gone." I've been told that if they see you're upset that it makes the process for them in boot camp and being away from home harder. Any…

My daughter posted the following on Facebook this morning:
When my daughter graduates from Boot camp do I bring her civilian clothes from home with us ?
Or do we have to ship them ?
moms write to your recruits EVERYDAY!! they need to hear from you, they love to hear from you and they enjoy the words of support and encouragement that you send. write every day but send the letters periodically.

My daughter has been in ship 5 for about 5 weeks. She is finally coming home. She is taking a psych leave , but has medical issues that would dispose her from qualification. If your child has had frequent ear infections which led to insertion of ear tubes, please check their hearing closely. We never noticed that their was a hearing loss, The Navy did,

Fedex tried to deliver the Box today. The doorbell rang but I didn't run for it because UPS and the Mailman usually just ring the bell and leave...to let someone know there is a package on the porch. I didn't know that Fedex needs a signature...I would have sprinted to the door. Now I have to wait until tomorrow.

Hello Fellow Moms of June 12th week Recruits.
The whole No News Is Good News is so true.
I wanted to give a quick update just in case you have not received your form letter either. I spoke with my son's recruiter this morning and found out that there was not enough to make a division so that is why I have not received his form letter with his address. He did state that his projected PIR is August 4th but that will properly change to August 11th. He asked me to call him on…

So my boyfriend graduated a couple of weeks ago and is in Pensacola for his A school. He is my absolute everything and without him I am pretty much a loner. Something that I have gotten really used to, but now I am longing for something to do. Most of my friends are interested in partying all the time, not that I don't enjoy parties its that I wouldn't know much people and I am not the best at small talk. Point is my Sailor has met pretty awesome people and having a great time and I can't…

My son arrived on Monday 6/12. I got my call that night and he sounded tired. Wonder why?? Ha! I received the box on Thursday. No letter yet. I don't know if he will write, but I am sending him writing materials, just in case:) It's just so hard not knowing how he is, has he made any friends, is it what he thought it would be. He had a friend leave 2 days after and I wonder if they will see each other. He has been 8 hours away at college the last 4 years, but I still talked to him…
