I am one happy mom, we received his box today and his form letter yesterday. First letter is in the mail. I kept it to only 2 pages..lol I can't wait to hear from him. Getting the box was emotional as your child's clothes he had on come home but he didn't, such a weird feeling. We could not be more proud of son. I did hear something from some Facebook friends today in regards to the letters to our SR's and if anyone can chime in that would be great. I was advised by a couple of prior…

My son is being pinned as chief and is stationed 14 hours away. I am very proud of him and I understand this is a milestone in his career. However it is on a Wednesday afternoon and it would be very difficult for me to be there. How necessary is it for me to be at this event? If it is necessary what should I wear? Thank you

My SR called today very upset and crying. She was doing so well in boot camp, then she fractured her ankle got send to RCU, passed her medical PFA, reinjured herself as a result of ankle injury (now, it's her knee) got put on light duty and is so worried she won't graduate and be sent.to SEPS. She has been in BC since April, 7, 2015.She says she has 180 days to complete but she has used up much of her time. I'm confused, I don't know what's going on. People try to help but I get conflicting…

My son Tyler left this past Tuesday (8/11/15) for boot camp, and I am trying to adjust. Being in the United States Navy is something he has wanted since he was 7 years old and I have always supported his goal and to see it start to unfold for him is amazing. I am nervous for him, sad he is gone and excited at the same time. The mix of emotions has me all over the place.. lol As I am sure others feel the same way. We are new at the military life and I am starting to realize I have a lot…

My son just left Monday for boot camp. It is so hard I miss him so bad. Its the unknown that is so hard. You go from talking to him everyday to not talking to him at all. I hope some of the moms on this website can help me understand what is going on at boot camp. I knew some stuff my son was in ROTC for 4 years in high school. Where is the web site that shows the pictures at boot camp? I know I might not see him but I still would like to see the pictures. I really appreciate any…

I actually had forgotten that I wrote this little message. Once I remembered, gave it a read, I decided to add another. We have been both pleased, and a little frustrated with the navy over the last few months.
First, as mentioned in my earlier post, he took the promotion test. The day before test results were made public, while standing in role call, he, and 6 of his coworkers were called out of formation. Shocked, thinking he was in some sort of trouble, he moved to the front of…

Does anyone have information on the USS Howard that's stationed in San Diego? Is it in port or deployed?
I got the form letter on Saturday 8/8. PIR date is 9/25. I just reserved a room today at the Navy Lodge. I called another hotel first who was not at helpful and did event know what I was talking about the Navy graduation. She asked if this has something to do with the military. I then called the Navy Lodge. They were courteous and excited like I was to celebrate this event with my son. I even called 3 times and spoke with the same person and she was still pleasant,
Now I am just…
