My daughter left out for Chicago on August 5th. I'm so proud of my baby. I tried not to cry, but it didn't go as planned. My daughter has set the bar high for her other siblings and cousins that are still in school. Redd will be and do great things!!!!
I can hardly wait until I hear from her.......this not talking to her is really killing me :( I'm waiting patiently for her box to come so I can start writing her.

PIR weekend was great, to bad it already came to an end, wished I could spend one more day with my seaman but the ride back home is a long ride. It was great to finaly see my son after such a long time, the graduation ceremony was amazing and worth any minute we had to wait. Longest wait for sure was the time via arrival at the ceremony hall until they overhead gate opened and the divisions marched in,…

I was reading some comments concerning calling cards and cell phones. I am on the do not call list for telemarketers. Will this interfere with my son being able to call me? Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.

My Son was sworn in on July the 23. Luckily several of us were able to be there to watch these fine young men making such a wonderful commitment. My heart was heavy, but I knew this is what he has wanted for years. He approached me about joining the Navy at the beginning of his sophomore year in high school! His father and I signed the paper work so he could start before his 18th birthday. He was young for his grade, but is mature beyond his years. His Birthday is next week. This will be the…

My only child, my daughter left to boot camp July 28th. It's been very hard every day since. I have been crying every day. I raised her as a single mother. My heart feels so heavy. I don't even want to go home from work anymore because my place feels so empty without her now. It hurts to even look at her stuff or even walk pass them. To make matters worst her dog is missing her so much too. Sometimes he'll go sit by the door wait for her to walk in. He's been sulking around a lot too. Just…

We got our formal letter over a week ago. We now got a written letter from him and a phone call this week. That definitely makes you feel better when you can hear their voice and be reassured that everything is ok. He sounds like he is enjoying things. It seems very different with him not home but, listening to his excitement on the phone telling us all that he is doing really helps you feel better and so proud. Only a few more weeks till graduation. Can't wait!!!
