my son is on ship 12 division 134. i didnt expect to hear from him, but i got the best birthday wish ever. short but sweet, my son said "Happy birthday. i have to go, bye" that may not sound like much, but it was a total surprise. best  birthday gift ever!!!

My daughter left for boot camp Jan 21, anyone else child leave that date....

I haven't heard my son sound this excited and confident in years!  He took his pledge yesterday. It's increasingly clear to me that this is the right path for him.

Thankful that he's chosen to serve our country, I wonder whether he knows what he's in for.  But then, does any son or daughter know what life's next chapters hold?  He's strong, of that I'm certain, and the Navy will make him stronger.

The days are quickly ticking off my calendar for Kate's ship out to Boot Camp.  I am trying not to, but am finding it hard not to be jealous of my remaining time with her.  She works full time, but also has at least two days off in between 24 hour shifts.  I am extremely proud of her work ethic when she offers to pick up a 12 hour for a coworker, but that takes away from time I could spend with her.  Her best friend attended paramedic school with her and they work at the same company, but…

Uggg!  Hello everyone.  My daughter left on the 29th and I still haven't received anything did anyone 's who loved one left on that day receive anything???

I was wondering if anyone knew of when results would be sent out to students in regards to the ROTC scholarship. My son has applied and gone through the interview process and was told he would get the highest recommendation, this was back in November 2014. Any advice, suggestions are welcomed.

My daughter went and took get ASVAB today and scored a 53. Very proud of her!

I think my son will be enlisting very soon. He at least wants us to meet with the recruiter before he takes that next step. I find myself excited for him - he really wants to do this. Right now, at least, I'm not even too nervous about him leaving (but I'm sure that will change!). I don't know how long we will have between his enlisting and shipping out, or how often we will be able to be in contact - either by phone or in person. Last night our family gathered at a local restaurant to honor my dad on his 77th birthday.
