My Sailor graduated from Nuclear Power School on Oct. 18 at NNPTC in Goose Creek, SC. It was a hard 6 months on him and me. I promise you, I went through every test, that I knew about, with him. But in the end, it was worth it all. Graduation was WONDERFUL. If anyone has a Nuke, I strongly encourage you to attend Power School graduation. We had been told that this was the best of the 4 graduations to attend, and now…

Well it's official, HE BOUGHT HIS TICKET!! :) I'm so happyy! In 26 days he will be home just in time for Christmas. Last time I saw him was the beginning of October, which isn't a bad wait at all, but it definitely has been long enough. I cannot wait. Plus today is our 8 month which is always exciting getting to add another month onto how long we've been dating. 8 down, eternity to go

Fridays are a life line. Who knew? Well the Navy knew. (and apparently all these cool moms on N4M)
I have never allowed my life to revolve around Fridays like most of the population. I just thought what a dull thing to do. Everyday is amazing and I don't want to dread the work week and be sad on Sunday nights, so I will not be wrapped around Fridays...that is until my son left for Navy Boot Camp.
9 Fridays. 9 Fridays in Boot Camp.
I will live for Fridays for 2 months…

NavyMoms, I have a question. My son graduates on 1/10/14 and I have family members who are already mentioning wanting to come to Chicago to watch the streaming video and then meeting up with us after the graduation.
The selfish side of me wants to tell them that this needs to be limited to Mom / dad / spouses as we won't have but just the day to spend with him.
I don't want to cause undue stress on the day or anxiety for him with more people there.
Am I just being…

Does anyone else find it crazy that the first leave day for our boys is in less than a month and they still don't have their slips saying when they can leave for sure. To me, that just sounds ridiculous because how are they suppose to know when they can come home for sure if they don't have their for sure day or not.

Well he's been settled into California for almost 2 months now and is supposed to come home in the middle of Decemeber. He's liking it and is actually enjoying himself. Only problem is that he;s broke and doesn't have money for a ticket home. We've been talking about him coming home for christmas since the day he left. Now that its getting closer we were both getting so excited. Well the other day we finally thought of an idea where he would be able to afford a ticket, only to have that plan…

My smart, beautiful daughter leaves for boot camp and her new journey one week from now. I am beyond proud of her, but I have so many emotions going on in my heart and mind. I know she will do wonderfully, but I will miss her so much. I don't want to be selfish, but as the time gets closer I feel lost. I would never show my daughter how I am feeling, I am trying to be upbeat an positive. I don't want to give her anything to worry about. , I know she has a lot of her one emotions going…

I'm new here and i just want to thank you ladies for the insight. I am grateful for Navy for Moms, it has been a blessing for me. However; i'm a mess. My son just left on Veterans Day, November 11, 2013 and i'm still crying. I thought i was the only one feeling like i've lost my son but after reading some of the post, i see i'm not the only one. I do know this pain won't go away until i reunite with my son again either by letter or phone call. I CAN'T WAIT! Right now i'm still crying and…
