Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Single Mom's of Recruits
Hi,
My name is Joanne. I ama single Mom and my youngest daughter entered BC 24 AUG 10. Her Dad and Stepmom took over completely (We reside in different state), I don't know how to handle tis, Ihave never felt so excluded in my life. On top of that, I can not afford the trip for Grauation and had to let her know.
I am experiencing the seperation factor even moreso, how do I just lt her go? Myheart is breaking, but I can not share that with her, she needs to remain focused. HELP...and Thank you

Most moms hearts break when their kids leave, especially for military life. And believe me there are a lot of parents that cannot afford to go to graduation, but you can always support her, let her always know you believe in her and want her to succeed. Send her cards and letters, and if you have other kids have them do the same. She needs to know you are supporting her and they look forward to mail call, its important. When she is done Boot Camp she will move on to A school, and you will get to talk to her more often, and emails, etc. Boot camp is a relatively short time, even though it seems like forever, its not. You can send her a care package for graduation, it is through the training command, maybe someone else in her division will have the info, but it can be waiting for her after graduation. You can get her address (although it sounds like you have it?) If you cant send her a care package for graduation, wait til she gets to A school, she will need things and gift certs/phone cards/homemade cookies always are favorites!

Wow-thank you so much for all of your priceless feedback! Especially about the graduation cae pkg! That helps A LOT and I will send one. I will also think about seeing her after BC...I'm going to write er a very nice letter that will relieve both her & I ofany guilt andlook to the right side! Thank you again Caolyn,an may your daughter and your family be Blessed. I have yet a lot to learn on this amazing advnture my awsome daughter has begun!

Your welcome, thats what we are all here for, support and sometimes another perspective on things. Best of luck to your daughter. And have fun putting a care package together, I have done many for my sailor and her squadron, it is really fun.

When is her grad date?? Search groups and join her PIR group...if you can't find it let me know and I'll send you the link. Go to your page and scroll down to read somments left for you on your comment wall
Your PIR group will be your lifeline for support, info or just to chat. It will connect you with your rct...esp when you chat with those in her division
