PROUD NAVY MOM

Hi all!!

WOW!!! This is all becoming REAL to me. My son left for boot camp a few days ago Feb.11 and I was able to receive his brief phone call and by reading other post I guess I should consider myself lucky however I did cried myself to sleep.

I haven't received his letter yet on what ship he will be on but when I do I would like to talk to other mothers who's sons may be on the same one. I have often heard that the friends they make in the service are the friends they will…

I am just feeling my around this site, trying to learn how to communicate with other mom's who are so proud their hearts are about to burst, but at the same time who's hearts are broken just thinking about being seperated from their loved one.  My son took his first swearing on December 14th, 2012.  He was accepted into the Nuke program and given a BC date of October 1, 2013.  He's ready to go right now, but I'm enjoying the days we have left together.  I want to communicate with all of you,…

Adopt a Sailor for PIR weekend

Son in PIR 03/29/2013 Ship 03 Div 133

I'm sure in each PIR date there are sailors who will not be able to have a friend or family member there supporting them. How sad for the sailor as well as the family members and friends who would like to be there but can't. No sailor should be alone for PIR and the time following. I'm sure many of us who will be there would love to support these young people by "Adopting" them for the day (or even the weekend)! Lets Pay it Forward. Let your SR…

Driving Tip for Graduation (PIR)

My husband finished bootcamp and we went to his graduation 7/20/12.  It is an amazing, amazing thing.  But, I thought I would hop over to the groups who have Sailors graduating and give you a tip about driving to the RTC gate.

You will most likely be coming from Buckley Rd and will have to make a right turn into RTC.  If this is the case, drive past.  Yes, I know, scary, but drive past the gate.  You will…

28 days til she ships- how do I get thought this?

Hi Everyone, I was doing fine until this past saturday.  I was at my friends daughter's sweet 16, and it hit, all these emotions- all of her memories of being a teenager- I don't understand it.  I was doing so good and ended the night in tears and just couldn't stop.  Now I'm just really blah- I am really proud of her, and I'm at the point of I don't want her to make me proud, cause she already does- I want her to make herself proud-  How do I go on without my best…

Questions

Hi all, we haven't gotten a call yet. What area code do the calls come from?
If they get asmoed, is it temporary? We've gotten several letters and he's progressively doing better.

Questions for Active Duty Spouses

Hey all you wonderful and supportive Navy Wives! I am in need of some answers as far as the life of an active duty military spouse! My husband is a PO3 and is wanting to go from Reserves to Active. I'm scared and need some support! I'm open to hear anything and everything about what goes on...the good and the bad!

Thank you!

Ship/Div on facebook

In case some of you don't know, you can join a "closed" group on Facebook for your recruits specific Ship/Div. I'm pretty sure each ship/div has it's own page. It's cool.  You talk with the families of the son or daughter your recruit is bunking with.  There is also a "meet and greet" the Thursday before put on by "Sarge".  Sounds fun.  Check him out on YouTube.

Downton Abby FANS

Hi ladies,

While waiting for BC graduation, the best TV distraction is Downton Abby.    Is anyone out there a fan?  I would love to hear from you.  I have been in love with the series and now own all three seasons.  Just finished season 3 and it was well worth the wait.   I find it to be a calm and wonderful distraction to pass the time until graduation day.   Would love to hear from other fans.....
